7891  Poker Forums / The Rail / Le Knave falls asleep....again. on: August 20, 2006, 02:44:45 PM
I would just like to register my annoyance at poster "Le Knave".

Promised to give me a lift to the 3pm rebuy at Leeds Gala because my car exhaust is knackered, then instead plays online all night, then falls asleep rather than picking me up at 10 to 2.

Angry Thanks, just had to use the forum to get that off my chest.

Phil Hellmuth Wins 10th Bracelet!!!
238. Phil Hellmuth limps in from the button and Juha Helppi moves all in. Hellmuth immediately calls with AJ. Helppi turns over A9. The board comes Q82K6 and Phil Hellmuth has won the tournament. Juha Helppi finishes in second place and earns $331,144. Phil Hellmuth earns his 10th gold bracelet...

I often go with the theory of Q7 being the average Heads Up hand, and i look to push with any Q wiht a kicker over 8, and any King with a kicker over 6.

Thats great if they are going to call you, however if you keep picking up the blinds with your Q7 but get called eventually by the AQ you are screwed!

Yeah but this is in a situation when the size of the blinds are forcing moves from the small blind position/its worth going all in due to fold equity.
If you state as above, couldnt you say that about any hand.

such as, If you have A 10 and move, eventually you get called by AJ, AQ, AK and you are screwed.

Also any ace, and any pocket pairs over .

I will often fold 22, 33, 44 if he/she has raised as they are favourite with any 2 over cards and they could have a higher pocket pair.

I think this is a pass due to amount both players have behind them.

You still have a decent amount of chips to play with if you pass this, but much more significantly you have nowhere to go in this hand.

If he was All In for 780 you could definetly make this call, as hes most likely gambling with a high ace or a low pair, and if he isnt then it will only cost you 540 more to find out, but the fact is that with that amount of raise pre flop, any decent player IS going to commit you to your entire stack on the flop no matter what it brings, which therefore means your playing to hit a two outer.

Also to be fair, unless hes an idiot, in a 10k Guaranteed tournament and with that raise, he has to have AA, KK, QQ, JJ, Ak or AK, so theres only a 1/3 chance your ahead pre flop, and this isnt good enough for you.

7904  Poker Forums / The Rail / My first big multi win. on: July 17, 2006, 03:25:39 AM
Playing the 10,000 guaranteed on Pacific Poker. Came close before but never won it. Came in the top 20 three times in the last four times ive played, but this is my first win!! Cheesy

Im well happy, winning $2400 and beating 885 other players.

On the final hand i went all in with 77, called by A2. The flop is 2 2 5. i sat there crushed, until going mental as the 7 turned.

Yay!
