I remember when I could play poker.

When we could call because they might be at it.

Bonomo has highlighted some things that don't really seem to be sexism or misogyny.

Sexism is middle-aged players calling the waitress 'love', talking down to female players, etc.

What he is describing seems more like sex attacks.

If he wants to improve behaviour in the casino, he would have done better to focus on that and leave out the extremes. They are two separate issues.

But he's been to Burning Man and has read a couple of books about philosophy and spoken to some other poker players about things and now he REALLY UNDERSTANDS LIFE

Nailed it.

Fairly clueless but really interested.

What platform/company do you use? I had a poke around on plus500 because i have always been excited by the idea of stocks and shares.

Is basing investments upon my own opinions and a little bit of research silly?

To your last point - it's definitely not silly and there is no real reason to think you can't outperform a managed or advised investment

I would caution that you do a lot of research (rather than a little) and take things pretty slowly in very manageable amounts rather than follow my less then exemplary approach - somewhat frivolous borne of age and general stability (except when drinking)

Thank you for the replies.

Anyone got a recommendation for a non fiction book that will leave the reader with a bit of hope and positivity towards the human race? Not looking for any fluffy hippy shit, just something with a good message.

I've just read 'A brief history of the future' and now I am just finishing 'Chavs: The Demonisation of the Working Class' - both are very good, but both are quite grim reading. Not sure I can stomach a third book in a row that will bum me out.

Go out and be a good person?

Thank you.

I hope you get equal amounts of enjoyment from the use of the luggage carrier as you did making it.
