, he is flexible enough to change as circumstances dictate. And yes, "texture of the table" is key, as is the sort of cards and flops you are hitting or msising.

that's it in a nutshell

Ys, very interested. Depends if much is going off in the WSOP (to report/update) but I like Luton, and I quite fancy their 250 Freeze.

will be about 70 runners. 20 or so of the good regulars across the pond

let me buy you a half of stout if you come along.

5pm ko.

If you've not played it before, you are allowed to rebuy immediately (i.e. whenever you have the 1500 minimum or less)

So it's virtually double entry with double rebuys !

Oh and the add-on is 2000 chips, thus mandatory unless you are chip leader.

I have played it before. Finished top 20 in it last week...sat back early played my big hands large and the chips got thrown at me. Loosened up later.

Loonfest is right for the first hour and a half. complete madness.

.

Does anyone else go in with a fixed, pre-determined game plan? The action is so dynamic, I just can't make it work, & I am not sure it is a good thing, either.

I agree with you...I have a good idea before I turn up for the very slow clock tournaments, but for normal events I like to establish a planaonly after I've seen the texture of the table

Mind you, reading Rob's excellent Vegas posts, he's going into events with a set plan isn't he?

Powdered Milk - that too. I notice young ladies these days are far more, "advanced", I fancy dried milk sort of held them back in those days.

I will regret asking this, but what on earth does this mean? Shocked

Or have I led too sheltered a life? Huh?

does he play this side of the pond at all?

That would be Nottingham, Pennsylvannia.

Not exactly Beeston then.

Johnstone was OK, but not really up to John Arlott's standard.

To hear Arlott commentate when Trueman was bowling, or Statham was weaving his magic, or the Bedser twins were doing their thing. Happy memories.

1950s!!!

You old so and so! Bedser twins, steam trains...whatever next.....gramophones? ration books? powdered milk? woodbines?

were you one of the 17 entrants in the 1959 world series?

Yeah, tikay raises, 9 callers........

we all know he's always at it with 7-3,9-4 and 6-3 that's why. Nothing to do with bounties.

but who could forget those classic TMS lines from Brian Johnston..

"the bowler's Holding the batsman's Willey"

or from Jonathan Agnew

"Botham tried to get his leg over but couldn't quite manage it"

Still a great listen....

No of runners, I'll make a "fun" spread of 55-57, allowing for the fact that 9-10 regulars are in Vegas.

who wants the over or the under?
