Ok Its a Step 3 on the Stars EPT sats.

Its the first hand of the game with blinds at 10/20. I'm mid position with 2 limpers in front of me. Starting chips are 1500. I have raised it to 120 to go. It folds to the small blind who calls and the big blind who calls. The other two limpers also call giving us a five way pot of 600.
The flop comes down K Q T rainbow.. It checks to me and i decide to make it 260 to go. the small blind goes over the top all-in and it folds round to me. My thoughts now are that he has possibly two pair or an A and hopes to make the str8 and force me out.
I call after some thought and he turns over QQ giving him trips as well.

My raise of 120 pre flop was there to force out limpers and only a genuine hand would call. However with it being hand one people can make crazy plays online I dont think my 120 was an overbet but about right ..
My bet on the flop was designed to force out people chasing str8s and hopefully take the pot down there The all in i was not expecting and to be fair with QQ pre flop i would have expected a re raise which would possibly have made me lay down my TT..
As it was he reeled me in and i have to say his play was very good if a little risky.. I didn't put him on a set..

Any opinions on either my Betting or calling would be appreciated

Not on the list but for my money the Soviet National anthem is the business..
52  Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: Drugs in poker on: August 09, 2008, 08:59:33 PM
Inappropriate behaviour at the Poker table is innapropriate behaviour...regardless of if it's drug fuelled or alcohol fuelled.

Sadly this is more of a reflection of the British attitude of apologising and not wanting to be seen to be making a fuss..

I was going to go on a lengthy rant ...however i deleted most of it. a few minor points

1) Drugs are illeagal for a reason...It's not just to spoil peoples fun..

2) Frankly I feel this thread reflects fully the sad state of the Country, where law abiding honest folk are cowed by the actions of the mindless. Where asking someone to refrain from inane behaviour is seen as wrong and inane behaviour is rewarded by amusement from some at the discomfort of others

If we condone this activity what other illeagal activity do we condone..
53  Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: Legality of Poker Tournaments on: April 20, 2008, 05:46:28 PM
Poker..very popular amongst members of the Constabulary... I know of one Police station where they had a massive Poker fundraiser a while ago and raised over a grand for charity.. and had about 50 runners..

Legally the whole thing is a total rats arse at the present.. and good luck to you in your venture...

Most Forces throughout the country are busy trying to catch real villains.. the only time this (poker) becomes a problem is when the punters get rolled as they try to leave or the venue becomes massive and causes issues.. I play in a number of ..ahem... home games but for real games its either a casino ..or my favourite... DTD
54  Poker Forums / The Rail / A ruling please..... on: April 17, 2008, 04:03:24 PM
In a tourney a player has to leave the game.. due to entirely unforseen circumstances.. what happens to his stack?
Three suggestions..1) his stack remains but gets blinded out 2) his chips are shared out amongst the other players on the table or 3) His chip stack is withdrawn.. I must say i favour 3) as it withdraws him entirely.. 2) disadvantages other tables and 1) skews the tables natural ying and yang ..if you will!!

any views appreciated??

56  Poker Forums / The Rail / Statistic Tracking sites V Common Sense on: February 26, 2008, 09:56:28 PM
Here's a question...
I recently downloaded the Poker Office Program and trialed the free version of it. It set me to thinking..IF i were to purchase this program or any similar poker stats/tracking program would it affect my live play??
Personally i enjoyed all the instant stats at hand but there is something i enjoy about good old fashioned observation of players (online or live) and intuition..
In other words would or could you become too dependant on all the stats and the info at your fingertip so that when you play live you find yourself lost without your software comfort blanket?

Well the Poles ,to be fair, worked damned hard.. There downfall is drink.. and by God they can drink.. A number of other Eastern European countries residents that turn up here are happy to beg and scrounge.. Others i.e. Iraqi Kurds and Afghans (people not dogs) make me despair.. "welcome to the land of milk and honey" i sometimes say to them as they emerge from the back of a lorry.. 99% of them dont speak any English except "ashhylumm"
Now call me old fashioned, but if you are in fear of your life ,for some reason ..lets say Trainspotters had becme a persecuted breed..then they  leave England and go to France, Ireland or Holland, countries that abutt onto this green and overcrowded land, you DONT travel half way round the world in the back of a lorry though about six countries before turning up in the country of choice due to the welfare system.. Bearing in mind to pay the people trafficers at the moment cost about $4000-$6000 to get over here.. A few years ago the average cost was $10,000 but its so competative now the price has fallen. Cant pay ? then you end up in virtual slavery if your a man or prostitutuion if your a woman. Get caught and its on the plane back home with $$$ in your pocket to soften the blow.. then its back to Bighty again in the back of a lorry.. have a look at Old Bailey online to see how they dealt with returnees from deprtation many many years ago!

However dont get me wrong.. As stated in the beggining the Poles work damned hard, it really does get my panties in a bunch when I speak to some British Half wit and ask there occupation "I'm on the sick" usually said through a fug of ciggarette smoke "On the sick?? i didn't realise thats an occupation now!" i reply.. "I suffer with anxiety.." I ask "can you spell that please ?" cometh the reply"Nah i dont even know what it means but the doctor says it must be anxiety cause he cant find anything else wrong.."
People of this country are as bad at being idle scroungers as some of the imported scroungers.. And of course this is a topic that we can't talk about as we might upset sensibiliites and it's only a short hop skip and a jump from that position to being branded a racist and then we stop talking about it again..

The projection is that in the near future this country will have 90,000,000 people living here thats up 1/3.. I can hardly move /see the doctor/get a dentist/summon an ambulance/call the police/find peace and quiet at the moment...imagine what it will be like with that many people trying to live here, I really do despair for my children.
