Speed isn't a problem.  Inappropriate speed is the problem.

people who think they know how to drive are a problem.. people that travel like total twats i.e... 90+ in lane 3 or four right up your rear as if its there god given right to drive how they want ,then dropping for an undertake if they cant get by.. why people cant seem to stick to 70 is a mystery..
Some of these people think i have ESP and can foresee there driving lunacy......

From a perspective of someone who has never been to a BB and would dearly like to go ..
I would be travelling (+ wife)
I will be staying in a hotel (+ wife)
I will be playing (+wife)

So a £30 buy in makes good sense to me  with a combined buy in of £60 rather than £80 or £100..
I gather from reading the thread that a hotel is the wisest move and living on the Cambs/Beds border its almost a requirement
All in all an expensive weekend but a weekend that would be a social event rather than a pure poker event..

Just my Ha'penny worth

Err..
Iv'e never been to a BB and would love to go ..only problem is the wife plays as well..
What are the costs for playing over the weekend ?? and i assume that whilst i have been a member for a goodly while i presume i'd have to sign the wife up to Blonde as well(not that thats a problem)..

Hmmm...
Mrs K9 and myself attended a game last week and Mrs K9 was playing on one table, when she witnessed a clearly new dealer being subjected to the most outrageous abuse by one of the other players who was drunk.. so much so he was playing wildly and hitting bad hands .. When the player missed the comments were disgraceful.. i.e thinly veiled threats.. Mrs K9 busted out and went and spoke to the card room manager about this individual also the venue manager came over and listened in.. The card room manager then went and watched said player and also spoke to him after the game finished..
To try and pressurise the dealer by such comments is decidedly wrong, and bravo to the location for pointing as such out to the player.
Its all well and good to complain about the dealers but we have a responsibility as well to be polite..

I'm with Red-Dog... £25 +£5 to play in top class surroundings is good value... I have no argument with that..
Everyone is entitled to there opinions...On this occasion DTD's opinion is that it costs £5 to play and I'm not arguing with that...
Right now I'm off out for my Pub league game

Went to dtd last night for my first visit... Took the wife and two mates along..

The building is terrific ,the decor superb,

We had some food which was not overpriced but was  generous well cooked and presented well

Tournement structure is a complete sucess, loads of play... sadly though my cards let me down.. (nothing to do with my F/H walking into a bigger F/H).. The games on offer were excellent with cash games starting all the time.. The valets were courteous and efficient and able to get me green tea which most places can't. Plenty of space round the tables to sit at without bumping into adjoining tables/players.
Nice to see that the dress code is being enforced and this was reiterated over the P/A. the screens dotted around dtd mean you know exaxctly whats going on at all times. The computer terminals all aroud the building were a revelation.
When you look at the layout of the interior the designers have done a fantastic job. Comfortable without being over comfortable and stopping people from playing cards.
Staff wise you can see some of the dealers are newish but they are all keen ..
Danny recognised me having only seen me once in Blackpool nearly three years ago.. Now that was impressive...

dtd will suceed as the vision of Rob Yong and the dedication of the staff he has working for him. This is without a doubt the finest cardroom in the country and the enthusiasm for all who work here is impressive...

I know Rob waited a long time for it to open .. but then some of us did too.. We wern't disappointed

Aces
Will there be sats to the Monthly £300 event?? I really want to play it but can't afford the £300 but sat play could make it attainable

Oh yes ..and that schedule is with effect from now?
Thanks
