Is that the famous PUFC from PNL?

Famous....That one also raises a smile....

I play small stakes poker and am happy to be laughed at.  If that makes me famous, then so be it   Cheesy

Its a $5 Comp, I say you can enter Steeley, for 2 reasons ..

1. You are a fish and have no chance of winning Cheesy

2. even if you did have every intention of coming to the bash, the world could end on friday and then no-one could attend.

So yes feel free to enter, The prizes will be paid to the winners blondepoker accounts .... Not that you will win anything you understand.

That goes for everyone , The main purpose of this comp is to get as many runners as Possible to try and make as many $50 prizes as possible .... The more the merrier I say.

Hi Guys

Not that I stand a chance, not that I can make it this weekend...But would love to play and if the prizes will end up in the blonde account...

Hope that its OK and see you in the tournie...

Feel free to message me if it is not, I will not be offended!

Who knows, I may be able to make BB4...

Cheers

Posh.

Unfortunately I no longer live in Peterborough.  Moved in 1999 to Sunny Trowbridge in Wilts.  What with a wife and 3 kids I rarely get to games nowadays.

Looking forward to Swindon on the 16th, one of the few games in my area.

Looking forward to joining a forum event on BlondePoker soon...
5  Poker Forums / The Rail / Betting Into Dead Pots on: August 25, 2006, 01:16:28 AM
Hi All

My first "new post", so forgive me if it is in the wrong place or has been covered a million times.

Was playing Poker this evening..  Mid stages of an MTT - Short stack went all in, 2nd guy called, 3rd guy on the BB also called.

Flop came 779.  BB checked, other guy went all in for just over the pot.  Other guy thought and thought, before laying down, what he said was K9.  The raiser had something like J9.

As it turned out, the J9 won the pot and the guy went out of the tourney.

The chat box started talking about when you should and when you shouldn't bet into a dead pot.

The guy who bet said that he thought his hand was best at the time and did not want to be outdrawn.

The other guy pointed out that in general it is accepted etiquette to check it down so as to try and limit the opportunities of the all in guy to catch a card.

In general, I believe it best to check the guy down and take him out.  I have often checked, been bet at and then taken 2 out.

But when should you bet into a dead pot - should you ever bet into a dead pot - should you just play the hand and ignore the dead pot?

I would be interested in your thoughts...

Cheers Posh.

PS - This is the first site I have used with spell check - LOVE IT!

WOW

Thank you one and all - except Tikay.  There are in fact many Posh fans out there...

Looking forward to becoming an active forum member, once I have given it a little time to read some of the posts and get a feel for it around here...

To Intro me...
Been playing for around 2 years now.  Mainly STT's, but I do enjoy MTT's.  I find I do not really have the patience for grinding it out on cash games.

Was a losing player until I stumbled across a TV Poker show that changed my poker direction.  It made me start thinking about my game, examining my play and therefore improving.  I have many presenters and players from that show to thank for turning me into a mainly winning player.  Not big stakes, but at least I have stopped leaking money.

Have watched Tikay on a number of TV shows.  He is a true old fashioned Gent, and an acomplished poker player.  I also respect him for fairness.  He is someone in Poker that I beleive we can all trust, and we need pros like Tikay to help protect the future of the game for big stake and small stake players alike.

Cheers

Posh
