I agree that this format should be used more often. we need a monthly or at least quarterly NLH biggie.
Julian... the chap with large glasses from sheffield?..... thats George Geary, was he playing twice? :-)

Lucky Liu took me out of the comp - he raised my BB and i was short stacked so re-raised all in quick as a flash with my 8-8 and he had to pay the under-raise to see me - as I suspected he was at it with 9-10 and caught a 9 - the way it goes in these 50-50 situations - he had loads of chips so wouldn't have hurt him anyway.

Well! - looks like Rob may have earned himself a new nickname.
Rob "the playbook" Yong.
I think it could work. Although one has to wonder if he's got the moves why couldn't he beat a chubby magician in motorcycle leathers at Blackpool?! - Rob, your response please!

Nice description there Red-Dog. It was soooo packed you wouldn't believe it. - I was sat on a table with Rumit and his mate Jim Reid (they are both Southern Fairies you know!) Jim asked Rumit what time the first break was here. This was met with great gafawing and mirth from the locals at the table and i think one of them actually uttered something like 'what does tha want a break for lad ye piss in ye pocket up here son" - quite funny. -
i do echo the thoughts of Tikay though - should be max 10 to a table.
The only other problem with sheff is the rule whereby if a player doesn't arrive at the table they are very seriously and quickly blinded away. 3 hands in and you lose the bb, the next hand it doubles and the hand after doubles again and so on. One fella who arrived 25 minutes late lost all of his chips by the time he arrived and was out of the comp.
great atmosphere though and free dealers is a lead every casino should take

The river-cam is Shite! - i hate it and they even do it when the person would have benefited didn't even think for a second about calling anyway and they do it on hands when the pot is quite small and its not really a key hand in the game - all in all an unnecessarry introduction to the game
and as for rabbit hunitng.. it should be punnishable by a 15 minute sit out ban and 5% of your stack being removed and given to the winner of the next pot (maybe the second punnishment is going a bit far - but rabbit hunting shouldn't happen!)

I bought in last Sunday (one week in advance) and they had sold 15 seats. - Not sure how many they have sold now but i presume it will sell out - but probably not til the day so why not just get there about 6 o clock and buy in, have some dinner, watch the box, have a drink and all that.
And you definitely can't buy someone else in

only 42 players for the 30 game last night - looks like your boycott is working. - Rob looked genuinely concerned!
On a positive note - the 'big blind to move' rule was trialed last night and it worked well - apart from the first couple of times when the person moving still went and sat behind the button and looked for the 'best seat'. - i was short stacked and got annoyed so obviously and very quickly pointed out the whole reason for the bb must move scnario is for fairness and that they must sit in the next available bb. - the adjustment was made and it was met with appreciation from all
WELL DONE GALA NOTTS and well done to ROB!!

there were 99 runners - so the prize pool is just a smidge off of 30 large, which means 11,900 to the victor.
When i tralled back up the A38 in rain of Noah's proportions there were 19 left. We go back today and play it out. There will be 10 prizes so 9 unlucky fellas will leave with nout.
I asked Zak for the names and chip counts but because no-one had signed consent forms he couldn't release the information so i'll do a brief synopsis - which will be brief cos i don't really know many of the Walsall lot.
We'll start with the easy one - I've got 18,200 in chips which is playable as the blinds will be 6-12 when we return and will move to 8-16 after about 20 minutes (clock is 45 mins per round)
Mad Chinese Paul from Nottingham has about 30,000 and "Big Banned" (banned from Nottingham that is!!) Dave Smith is deep stacked and is hitting everything (55v88 - They both hit sets on a 825 flop but Dave makes his fourth 5 on the river! - He cracked AA with 8-9, then he cracked KK with JJ - the guy is unbelievable)
Steve Jelinik is there with 25k and Big Des (the man with more gold than fort knox) is also well placed.
Apart from that - i am struggling for names and chip counts. - maybe i'll get the result on the forum later
