The Isabelle Mercier clash was, Isabelle 66, Vicky QQ. All the chips went in pre-flop. Vicky is well stacked now.

I sat with Vicki earlier - and you are right!! - she really is WELL STACKED!! :-)

4193  Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: Grosvenor changing rules regarding deals? on: April 01, 2005, 04:19:00 PM
Fair point Adam.
I think if a deal is done there should still be play to a finish to get a winner. (i.e. - 30K left in the prize pool, 2 players take 12.5k each and play for the remaining 5K) - i don't like resolving a comp by way of chip count.

i agree that short handed play is a great part of the game and shouldn't be avoided.

Great idea Ariston.
I put a similar idea to Tikay only recently for a Notts Vs Blackpool challenge that paid on a shares basis as a follow up to another recent post (it may have even been you that got me thinking) but would also give a seat to the WSOP for the winner and unlimited bragging rights.  This type of tourney could be the way forward because as you say even if you come last you could still end up winning big as a % of the lucky player.
4195  Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: 15000 grand up for grabs at walsall on: March 29, 2005, 03:12:55 PM
OK, fair points! - i take back the 'it should be a re-buy' comment from earlier.  I will not be in attendance as I have some golf commitments that weekend but I am sending Mr Hill 'Senior' in my place to try and keep the family coffers growing. - should be a good event and a one hour clock is perfect!
4196  Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: 15000 grand up for grabs at walsall on: March 28, 2005, 06:23:56 PM
They should have made it a re-buy!! - it will only make 16000.  In addition for non-locals it means a one hour plus drive to bust out early with no re-buy option is no-one's idea of fun!

with re-buys, it would make 35,000!! - now that sounds better doesn't it!
