Just heard that the train could have been travelling at 2x the recommended speed for that bend

The crash was caught on camera and it certainly appears speed related.

Unlucky tikay, glad you enjoyed the experience.

I will be walking to Elland House tomorrow. I think it's about 5 miles so I'm allowing a good hour.

I reckon you'll need more than an hour - a good hour may be long enough though, depends just how good it is I spose. I'd say 3½ mph is a steady but not dawdling walk, 4 mph is brisk and 4½ mph is hell for leather and 5 mph is barely achievable. If I knew the route and it was 5 miles maximum, I'd reckon on 4 mph and allow 1¼ hours.

Ah well, I'm committed now. (Shot my mouth off at dinner.)

You might make quiet lovely voulavonts?

Dawn makes drop-dead gorgeous vol-au-vents*. Me? Not so much.

What I actually meant was, taking the oft-used internet acronym of YMMV as my starting point, Your Mileage May Quite Literally Vary.

She says - she'd better provide some proof pdq imo Smiley

Remember where you heard it first Smiley

I have a similarly 'anal' routine for making tea at work.

Rinse cups.

Scrub each cup clean with a clean paper towel.

Decant any water remaining in the kettle into the clean cups.

Top the water up in each cup to a level which allows for the addition of milk and 'stirring room'.

Pour water from each cup into kettle, checking after each cupful to see if the element is covered, if so, switch kettle on then continue to empty remaining cups into it.

Put tea bag, milk and sugar (as required) into each cup.

Go for a wee.

Wash hands.

If more than one cup is being made, warm now cold hands on radiator (seasonal adjustment may be required).

When water starts to boil, as seen through 'level' window, click kettle off before it clicks itself off.

Immediately pour all of the water into cups.

Using three clean cups of identical size, refill kettle with exact amount of water for next mashing to transfer remaining heat in element into the water.

Give each cup a gentle stir.

Go back to work for between 5 and 10 minutes.

Stir each cup again.

Remove each tea bag and gently squeeze tea from it into its cup.

Give each cup a good stir.

Place clean paper towel on worktop.

Draw the bottom of each cup across the towel.

Deliver tea to recipients.

Enjoy top-notch cup of tea.

Unlucky Tony.  You'll get 'em in the next one.

The Welsh guy's name is Dan Owston.  Likes to ride around on a mobility scooter when he's in Vegas, but stay out of his way if he's on one.  His 'driving' skills are pretty horrendous.

TBF I think most of his 'accidents' are intended.

Not a concert as such but Dawn & I were lucky enough to be invited to a get together at a friend's house along with Davey Carton, the lead singer of The Saw Doctors. He grew up in the same town as my mate, Tuam, County Galway. We had a great evening singing theirs and others songs along with some great story-telling too. Top fella.

That was my first thought but then I realised he'd ticked two boxes with 'Rangers' (though the football [  ] box is arguable).

Yay! A place for proud dad's to post dog pics! Can't recommend having two dogs highly enough. The fun they have together is massive. Every time I take our idiots out they make me laugh at some point.

I'd love to do it but I'm probably busy. If the plans fall through I might yet make it.
