How does Sturridge fit in when he's back?
Probably a change in formation which they did when Suarez came back from his ban and numerous times since Rodgers has been in charge Who does he replace if everyone is fit? Good question probably can or one the wide players Not sure Rodgers has a preferred starting eleven, or if there is going to be such a thing. There are certain players who just don't seem to fit in to a current starting XI, and that includes Can for me. Where would he play? He's not a defensive midfielder to sit deep, so where would he start?

The analogy of speeding is a daft one.
If the speedometer wasn't accurate at you've done 44 in a 40 and got a ticket I'd sue the company. I wouldn't be saying I should know I was doing 44.
I think you deffo have a case. The whole point of the clatter barrier is to measure clearance surely?
The speeding analogy only fails if the speed limit sign was ambiguous, not your speedo. The speedo being wrong would be analogous to your tape measure being wrong when you measure the height of the van. That's not the fault of the people who set the speed limit/height limit. By the way, most speedos are indeed inaccurate, and they usually over-estimate the speed you're doing by a very small percentage. I have sympathy with Tom here, as like him, I would have expected the clatter barrier to be at the height stated as the maximum. However, before going for compo I'd also read the T&Cs for the car park (must be displayed somewhere), and see what it says about the maximum height and if it mentions the clatter barrier at all.

Liverpool were constantly looking to Sterling to win games basically on his own last season. Yeah Coutinho was good last season but there is no doubt Sterling was 'pools most important player.
I know who I'd rather have if it was a choice between those two.
Yes, Liverpool looked to Sterling to help them win matches towards the end of last season - and he simply did not deliver. He's certainly not a natural goal-scorer, so playing him as the one to score goals was a mistake, and a job he wasn't up to. He's obviously a fantastic talent, and there's loads of potential there. Not yet the finished article though, and I think Milner offers more to Liverpool than Sterling did. A reflection on both Sterling and Liverpool. As for Benteke, wouldn't have been my first choice, but he's a decent striker. Let's hope he becomes the Belgian Andy Johnson (for those who remember Nem's analysis of Torres when he signed for Liverpool).

That definitely isn't the first choice starting XI.
No Firmino as previously stated? No Sakho? I also think Lallana will have a good season without the injuries that plagued him from before the start of last season.
But yes, lots of options in the squad. Just hope Balotelli isn't one of them.

They may never 'need to work again', if they had the lifestyle of the average joe, but they don't.
As for thinking he's better than he is, isn't that the case with most people, in all walks of life? Yes, most are wrong. I imagine leaving a few million on the table that's easily obtainable would probably seem stupid to a young kid that has come from nothing.
He was offered a £3.4million pay rise.

I know there's a whole bunch of nuances and these guys have a lot of money - but I don't see what he's doing is any different to how people might behave with an unreasonable employer.
Make life difficult and maximise your exit money - not so bad really even if the greed kinda sticks in the craw
The employer isn't being unreasonable though. He's the one who wants to break the contract he has, he's the one that won't train or fulfil his obligations with the pre-season tour in the Far East. His employer offered him a 200% pay rise, he turned it down. He said it's not about the money though, but won't hand in that transfer request to make the move easier... Oh, and happy birthday fella

What % of a transfer fee does a player get nowadays? Used to 10% didn't it?
And I'm assuming if he put a transfer request in, he gets zilch?
Yeah, something like that. He obviously wants to move (you don't have to be Sherlock Holmes to work that one out ), so why not hand in the transfer request if it's not about the money? I think he's an excellent player, and would probably do very well in a good side. He's just gone about this in completely the wrong way, and he also thinks he's currently better than he actually is.

So is he sick, or is he simply avoiding going to work because he doesn't like his manager?
If he wants to move, why not hand in the transfer request? Oh no, he wants to move AND he wants to make sure he doesn't lose out on the transfer money available. He doesn't need that extra money.
No problem any player moving to a club for money. No problem with a player moving to another club because they think they'll win more trophies there. No problem with someone moving to a different club because they think it'll be an easier life there. No problem with someone moving to a different club because their missus likes the shopping there. No problem someone moving to a different club because they prefer the colour of the home shirt.
I do have a problem with how Sterling and his agent have tried to engineer this move.
Isn't the bit in bold exactly the same as with Lallana last year in his protracted move to Liverpool? Did you feel so strongly then? I said I don't mind players moving to clubs for any reason, including money. Sterling has said that this isn't about money though. If he wants to maximise the money coming to him, then he might think this is the best strategy. I think it's going to backfire in his face.

Yeah VC are the worst. I have had 3 accounts closed, and all three have been closed after my FIRST BET lol! And each time before the race had even run! They said they would honour the bet each time though... and all three bets lost lol. The first one was sort of fair enough because I was naive and made a pretty big bet. But the other two my bets were both only £100. I bet from an ipad using 3G on the second two accounts so it is not like they were tracking my IP address or PC or anything and could tell it was the same person.
Evil Pie's thread on here was brilliant. His first time at sports betting, and he was struggling to get through the requirement to trigger his bonus.
