If the table is as poor as you suggest, why take the risk so early?

You can outplay them for the rest of the day without risking much of your stack.

Not poor, just softer than other tables i saw and the rest of the day and "outplaying" people is pretty hard to quantify.

What happened here is you arrived late and missed all the info you need in this hand.

Not out of choice, can only guess you don't do much driving around London between 4 and 8pm.

Point is pretty moot anyhow, in the 6max the day before i was luckily early and still got moved after 20 mins.

The fact that he doesn't actually out them makes his piece a bit worthless.

£250 full ring side event.

Have arrived little late at the beginning of level 2 and joined what looks like the best table in the room. 2 very poor players seated. 10k starting, 50/100 blinds, 30 minute clock.

Very good player opens utg to 300, i flat QQ utg+1, called by both the poor players in mp/btn, SB unknown 40 year old smartly dressed chap makes it 2.5k from 25k stack (has been arguing with someone on the table). Utg passes somewhat reluctantly, action?

Iv been staked for the last 8 years, via various people and the relationship is the most important thing. If you are really struggling a good backer will help you out, its a human industry after all and based heavily on trust. When that trust is established there is way less likelihood of any horses reneging on a deal, not playing optimally and im sure we have all heard of worse. Reputation is ultimately key in this industry, for backers and horses.

Lets be honest the DTD overlay thing is turning into a bit of a farce now, they push themselves beyond all measure at so many events then complain that their neck is on the line always.....well clearly  but its not your first rodeo. I thought it was really funny, if she got banned for penning that it would be a travesty.

Cant agree with you Alex , any poker organisation that is willing  to put their" neck on the lines " by promoting guaranteed tournaments is greatly contributing towards the  industry .

If  tournament numbers are  falling short and a rallying cry is needed then surely that is just good business practice .

Good business practice?!......id argue its the opposite, of course its being used a marketing tool and its like the boy who cried wolf now (probably just pissed off the overlays are not on my doorstep).

great description (be amazing if all op's gave that much detail), nice hand, think seeing a decent turn here is smart 3 way.

Little less advertising would be great! i understand you need to advertise the club but feel like you will lose a fair bit of passing trade if its too advert heavy on the stream. Great idea though!

People will find a work-around. They always do...

Lowering rake significantly would have been a more genuine shot at improving the ecosystem.

geeeeeeg

AK is pretty gross spot. hard to consider him to be particularly light when he continues to a 4way cbet even given those positions.

horrific spot, really rough, especially because your range looks awfully AQ/AK heavy.

The donkbet with KKK on the river though after you get raise on the flop and c/c turn, thoughts on that one Dan? Didnt like river personally.
