How I'm preparing for WCOOP

I'm taking WCOOP deadly serious this year. I am taking a few steps to ensure that I am in the best frame of mind for the whole series. In case you missed my articles on pokernews, I also opened up about my depression and how I managed to get on top of it over the past year.

Diet

Gulp. For the first time in my life I'm going on a diet in September. My ideal weight is 70kg (11 stone) and barely deviated between the ages of 21 and 26. I'm planning on a few less red meats and going to really increase fruit and veg in the diet. White bread and potatoes will be avoided. To be fair, my diet isn't dreadful, it's fairly balanced but it's a start.

I've also purchased a mini fridge so I can snack on fruit and drink plenty of water.

Alcohol

September is an alcohol free month. I have an exclusion period however Cheesy. In the middle of WCOOP I have a stag do in Hamburg.

Exercise

I'm going to run most days. Hopefully 4 times a day is ideal working up to 5km from 2km. I used to run a couple of times a week, but when I started medication for depression it absolutely kicked my arse and after 200m I was wheezing. Time to knock that excuse on the head and dust the running shoes off.

Study and planning schedules

I'm part of a hard working schedule that puts a lot of time into studying and preparation for sessions.

steady eddie! gl dan

Bust with 5mins of 800bb left having hovered and got a cpl of ships thru I jammed utg1 with K8o for 8bbs and got looked up by Jack and Rana in the bb and we didn't hit losing to AJ of Jack.

Back tomorrow for the main and will be here at 2pm to see how many are in before we decide if we're playing the 2pm or 7pm flight.

to remove huds from a site would require too much effort for almost any site. The costs would be huge to keep up to date.  If you provide hand histories programmers will develop ways to use that information. If you dont show hand histories then you allow scandals to go on, for example the ipoker and microgaming botting rings were discovered by hud use/tracking software as was the UB scandal.
67  Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: Poker software with no huds ext allowed ? on: September 02, 2015, 09:20:27 PM
Hi smoky,

Unibet has been mentioned, as has Sky Poker. I can't comment on Unibet's position, but on Sky Poker you cannot use HUD's or any similar third party software.

More specifically, a HUD simply would & cannot work on Sky Poker, they have modified the software in such a way as to render them unworkable on there.

This is not flim-flam PR, it's a fact. From time to time, a few players try & design Heath Robinson workarounds, but they won't work. One was briefly available around 5 years ago, but it was soon closed down by a software modification.

The question was asked only last week on their Forum, & the official reply was as follows......

"Hi there
We do not allow any player assistance tools on Sky Poker, all such software is banned so there is no 'allowed list'.  We do not work with any 3rd party suppliers of such software and strongly advise players to avoid people who claim to work with Sky Poker.
We monitor for this activity, however, if you believe you have information that proves someone is using such software please send us a message and we will take the necessary action.
Anybody seen to be using such software risks having their account closed."

I gather from industry sources that various other sites are considering the same thing, & I know with 100% certainty that one very well known Online Poker brand will introduce the same restriction within the next few months.

As with so many things, this comes at a price, in that, related to the above, players have only very limited access to Hand Histories, which often causes negative comments.

However, if third party software was permitted there, traffic & liquidity would decline very significantly, so it won't be changing. Ever.

believe this is wrong Sad

call, call, fold. Villain has played this the worst way possible and you've just caught him completely losing his mind. Tag him and move on

villain played his hand pretty well, he blocks a set and is the more likely to have a jack

3 way im happy with a flop bet for a bit of protection and maybe some value from Tx, as played id fold river. Agree with pleno though, need way more information to be able to make any objective decision.

Embrace more K9o type hands, hands that flop strong top pairs. Playing HU pots in position against weaker opponents is gravy.
