RIP Steve Wright. He was my fave /broadcaster of all time. His characters in the posse, especially Sid the manager were the funniest thing on radio.

Annie Nightingale.

Jo Whiley called her
The coolest woman who ever graced the airwaves.

Spent so many hours listening to her.

I may have said this before but
I wasn't expecting that.

Thursday morning had a reocurrance of the pain. The Ambulance came and whizzed me off to Hossy again. Not sure if the blues and twos were for my benefit or the school run mummies but it made me feel important.

Got me changed and up to the operating theatre again.

I suffer from low blood pressure so people sometimes struggle to find veins for canulas and blood tests.I dont let trainees use me as it causes me a lot of anxiety if they taketoo many attempts.
My surgeon introduced me to a student and asked me if i had any objections to her assisting him.

Stick a needle in me , no way...insert a bit of wire into my wrist and try to find my heart-go for it girl.Strangely i had no objection, our minds certainly work in odd ways.

Seems the 2 from last week were ok , and one of the remaining two was ok, theother one was blocked.

After fitting another balloon the surgeon "tidied things up" in the other veins and the job was a good un.
As i said,i have very low blood pressure so the heart-which is not working particularly well and has major damage to the left side-struggles to pump the blood round.I have some new pills which will hopefully help.
Arrived home again this afternoon, no visitors so no photos but the beard has gone.

Keep on keeping on

Boo

Great timing though, fancy actually being at the Hossie when the thing starts. Incred good fortune really.

I was actually at home , on my way to the Doctors Surgery, but yes good fortune that i live pretty convenient for Hospital too.

Wishing you a speedy recovery Boo old mate.

I'm not sure if I would have handled that as well as you did.

Fourth one Ralph. You kind of know what to expect so you just put your faith in the experts and let them do what they need to do.

They usually go in through my wrist but because i have a lot of scar tissue there , the young lady in the operating theatre informed me that they may have to go in through my groin.
Without another word she whipped off my trousers and boxers so she could prep the area.

I wasn't expecting that.

My wrist was good to go though .

Can't beat the Coronary Care Unit at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital on a chilly Thursday in November.

Was scheduled to have a medicine review at the Doctors Surgery at 11.15am on Thursday.
At 10.30am i had a sudden crushing pain in my chest and knew immediately it was my heart.

I phoned for a taxi and was at the Surgery within ten minutes.
When i arrived there were four people in the queue ahead of me so i did what most British people do , i joined the queue.Unfortunately the old boy at the receptionists desk didnt look like he would be finished any time soon so i walked out the back to the Nurses room..
"Excuse me,could you help please , i'm having a heart attack"

Within seconds i had 5 or 6 members of staff attending to me as i drifted in and out of consciousness.

The Ambulances arrived within a matter of minutes - 2 Ambulances were sent as another male had collapsed in the car park and was in a bad way.

It wasn't long before i was at the Hospital , wheeled straight into the Operating Theatre and two hours later lying in bed in a lovely room on my own.

Turns out two of my stents had become blocked,so i had two balloons coated with anti coaglicant inserted.
Was back home Saturday afternoon.

Our NHS is wonderful.
