1  Community Forums / The Lounge / Re: The UK Politics and EU Referendum thread - merged on: December 14, 2017, 10:50:02 PM
A large % of UK business leaders/labour party/conservative party and the whole of the Lib Democrats will be plotting to gradually derail Brexit and why not - its what they believe to be in the best interests of the whole UK.

Polls suggest a referendum vote now would see a small majority for remain. I would suggest a referendum would see a massive swing to remain with a large % of former leave voters now voting remain but not admitting so to pollsters/friends or family.

My own experience of having spoken to many dozen leave voters was that their general attitude before the referendum was that they wanted to protest, were angry, wanted full sovereignty and were particularly unhappy about the levels of immigration. I now get the impression that they are mostly aware of the blatant lies and nonsense spouted by the extremely odd bunch of leave politicians before that referendum and realise that the whole situation is a complete `mess' that they didn't anticipate and that economically is was clearly a mistake.

Why are leavers so against a 2nd referendum when the people would be far more aware of all the variables involved and clear pointers to what it will cost, how it would be implemented and how costly it would be economically.

I heard Martin Green is scraping the rent money by smashing the 1.04-1.01's when the winning horse is already over the line at various british racetracks.
He apparently made a brief poker comeback in a live MTT on a med cruise last summer. However, not being able to finish anywhere near the top 4 in possibly the worst field ever
assembled for a tournament, he quietly confirmed his permanent retirement.

I have heard a strong whisper Ram Vaswami is playing in some good sized games in the Swindon area!!

I always wondered who the punters were who believed OJ was not guilty and thought it a good idea to
give Hindley and Sutcliffe another chance.
Looks like a fair few are poker players - get a grip.

This whole coup surely indicates that Flushy's run good at the wsop 2010 was a complete fluke.
How could anyone with an IQ over 3.5 play heads up in a hotel room with the 2nd most well know cheat
in poker and expect to not do your conkers. That Racener comes across as a doughnut as well.
The only way for flushy to redeem himself is to donate a good chunk of the $70k to charity or add some cash
to a prize pool in the £50 with a £50 at the Brighton rendezvous casino.
5  Poker Forums / The Rail / Pro Poker Player/Gambler Mortgage Advice on: November 01, 2010, 05:24:07 PM
Unfortunately I am going through a divorce and intend to buy my current marital
home off my wife.
There is plenty of equity in the property but my existing mortgage company wont accept
my form of income and it looks like self cert mortgages are dead in the water!
Any help in where to go and who to speak to about getting myself a mortgage would be much appreciated, thanks.

I was worried you might nick some of the 5 bags I got on phil.

Surely this is the end of televised poker. The last person out of the studio (probably Channing) turn out the lights.
The poker mill used to be a bit like the fa cup in the 70's and 80's. Full of useless players but some characters, a drunk audience and some meaning.
The FA cup died the day Man U didn't enter cos they fancied a holiday somewhere at other end of the planet, the poker
mill died the day `Devilfish' wasn't invited.
Stick your swath of geekish pre pubescent kid pro's up your cranium full tilting.

MickeyT, MBJ, Flushy.
This forum is a very dangerous place to reside even for the odd 5 minutes.
I know decent people with wives, kids and pets. I cannot allow myself to be potentially sucked into all this.
I am now an ex member of Blonde Poker.

One of the most bizarre TV heats ever.
Fellas constantly asking to see beaten hands WTF!!
A million slowrolls and one where the US freak refuses to show a flopped set as a winning hand.
Praz/JP/Simon excused from all that total bollaxx, I suppose they must be used to it having played with all those
classless clowns in vegas but how it didn't get nasty I will never know.
10  Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: TV tourney with fast structure any advice? on: September 23, 2009, 04:15:14 PM
The standard will be appalling - NAP.
When it becomes a dog shoot, shove with a wider range than normal and call shoves with a tighter range than normal.
Other than that enjoy the free food and wait for the inevitable donkey to cooler/suck out on you.
11  Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: Brief Report from Day 1 of the £1k WSOPE on: September 19, 2009, 07:27:18 PM
The first level is 25-25 and starting stack 3000, 1 hour levels.
What a breath of fresh air compared to the now seemingly standard 10-15k starting chips when everyone wastes 4-5 hours of their lives just getting mentally and physically exhausted before the levels that matter.
Every single player I spoke to yesterday thought the structure was perfect and moaned about the massive stack nonsense. If you play poker for enjoyment and the soul destroying slow structures please go and play play money games or a £5 `pretend wsop main event' at a local casino.
I am soon to set up an organisation to preserve some sense in live tournaments `SOOS'. Save Our Old Structures.
One aim is to have multiple MTT's at a casino in one night. Ie. comps going off every 3 hours and lasting 3 hours. It is almost impossible to avoid the variance for `full time' players otherwise.
Ps. I don't know why anyone would 4 bet any hand early in this comp, but if you did and got 5 bet by a tight player, then 120bb's deep I would think kk is a standard fold.

It's time for Flushy to get a grip before his empire implodes.
Unless I am ill-linformed he has never had a `proper job'.
He is now manager of a staking business and part owner of this site.
It is not his fault if he has never been trained in how to behave in the corporate environment
but he needs to learn fast.
I suggest he spends less time playing golf over the next few weeks and enrolls in some customer relations/anger management/human resource-relations courses at the Brighton business centre before everything falls apart.
You can get EU funding as a new business.

R.I.P. Rodney.
Really gutted for you all.
Hopefully in time you will return to this great sport.
I know my fella at home would give anything for a return to the track!

I apologise for not asking a question tikay or dingbell wanted me to ask first time.
1) Did you feel as proud to be british as Daley Thompsen when the national anthem rang out and did you sing it?
2) Where do you see yourself living, with whom and with approx how much in your building society in 10 years time?
3) What is your opinion of the `pick a number' gimmick we now have with 10 minutes left of the day to decide the number of hands to be played?

Would you ever consider even 1% about smashing a bird if she didn't have a boyfriend?
