Nope - we think it was to do with the power supply (the wiring's not great apparently).

The software is Poker Clock (as TD needs internet access to initialise). Cincins paid for it.

2K/4K

Cheers for the suggestion - problem is working it into the S/Ware (I'd enough nightmares with the spontaneous shutdown by the computer - thank feck I was out and had noted the total chips - I had to reload the whole tourney).

yeah i know i really liked having that amount of chips too but i think the owners were wanting it to finish earlier, theres only a few ways to do that either you make it a freezeout, no buy ins or top ups / you lower the amount of starting chips / or as rod said in another thread upping the blinds and putting antes in.

i liked the structure but im thinking they may cancel the structure if the dont get it to finish when they would like it to finish

I wouldn't worry too much about that. They are more used to chops ending almost all tournaments. If we adjust the blinds/antes a wee bit we should get a decent finish time but the same basic structure.

Could someone please post a list of which tourneys are on, which night??

I cant access any sites to do with gambling in work at present, due to my firewall.

Im asking as ill be there tonight and might jump into the tourney

cheers boys  Undecided

I would but I don't know - they were doing £20 rebuys apart from 1 night a month where it was £50. But I seem to remember them changing it?
6816  Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: Game Report for Cincinnati Visit 09/09/05 on: September 09, 2005, 01:44:00 PM
Just to finish off -there was a deal to end this  Undecided - but only when it got to heads up at 3:30. (paying out to all8 at the final table helped keep things moving though)

I've said on another post that there'll be some rethinking on the structure - probably introduce an ante.

If anyone's got advice on the %age, timing etc of using an ante as well as BB/SB it would be appreciated.

Good tourney guys, well done on making the money Dave.  Great to be able to put faces to names.

We are definitely up for a regular tourney with a similar format.  I've posted a Game Report on GPS, would it be of interest to folks if I post it here?

Cheers,

Eoan

Yep - good to put faces to the names.

Please post the report on here - feedback is needed (particualrly to get more of the same out of the club).

As far as I know they are going with the same again on Thursday - I'll be in to chat with them on Monday & will confirm.

Cheers, Rod

Was more thinking of keeping the strucure - but starting everyone posting an ante once we got to 1000/2000... building the pots up & encouraging more to go for it.

I'll probably ask on here for advice on that.

Just a picture of a big bubble.

Or as a variation on that "Had Bubbles more often than Michael Jackson".
6821  Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: Freezeout, Rebuy or doublechance? on: September 09, 2005, 09:44:43 AM
Yeah, he was worried about lower turnout.  There are a lot of students in Brighton who play the £5 rebuy.  He liked the idea of the £15 with one rebuy and he suggested a £20 freezeout maybe on alternate weeks but is concerned about numbers dropping off.  They are trying to increase numbers at the moment.

We had a £15 NL with 1 rebuy last night & got 54 runners (for Cincinattis as a new club this was a cracking turnout with lots who've not been in before - particularly as the sum total advertising was on here & 1 other poker forum). The club were impressed & are talking about makinng it a regular occurence.

We need to look at the structure though - we played the blinds like Nightfly's beginner's night structure and ended up with the last 2 splitting the cash for the top 2 places at 3:30. Possibly Glasgow players play that little bit tighter (cue Colchester Kev  Wink).

Being a Celtic and Scotland fan I am quite happy for Beattie to play for Scotland, I also think he should have come on instead of McCann.  But... we got the result so if it works....

I thought that was the most obvious substitution. Couldn't work out playing 2 wingers. Thought Beattie worked well when he came on though.
