Legs n' Co - just along from the River boat, a bit cheap and once your inside, youll realise why!!

HOI!!! - I like Legs & Co!!! Angry Don't remember any stairs there so I think it'll be wheelchair friendly - certainly the bouncer knocked back from the WWE for being too threatening promised to break the legs of any of us who got out of order - they'd need to allow wheelchairs for us to get back in Wink ).

Ironsides - The Thistle Classic's on Sauchiehall St - so a good bet for a hotel is the IBIS or the Novotel - both a few hundred yards away - at least one of them offers assisted wheelchair access. Seventh Heaven is only 1 street away from the Casino & a couple away from the hotels so that'd be your best bet - but there are a few stairs at Charing X Station (near 7th H) - so I'll take a walk round tonight & check for you what the situation is re access.

Any Glasgow players going to the 5 NL Holdem in the Riverboat tonight?

Dave & I are planning on attending (winning however is another question  Wink )

double chance means that you are given half your chips at the start

then depending on local rules you get your 2nd half either any time you want or when your down to 1/2 your starting stack

after the first 2 hours (normally) you get your 2nd half if you want them or not

2 flop PL means 2 flop pot limit

otherwise they deal 2 flops 2 turns and 2 rivers but you only get 1 set of hold cards

Thanks

Double chance sounds OK.

2 flops!!! Shocked I've enough trouble with one.

first off rod your pic is busted if you need help sorting it our just let me know

2nd we scots are bigger than this please stop feeding the trolls (tikay and kev)

3rd can you ask michelle when the next gala festival is in scotland (any of the 3 cards rooms will do)

4th how can they play poker down there? i dropped a penny last time i was in glasgow and 50 kids jumped me thinking it was a scramble

1 -  might be becasue it's linked from another site (looks fine for me -but might not work through the firewall). I'll sort it. Picture a chunky Rico Annoni - you'll be not far wrong.

2 - no bother - spent years dahn sarf (Liverpool, Wakefield, Coventry) doing missionary work - used to them by now  Wink

3 - 2005 Scottish Poker Cahmpionships 27th June to 3rd July, Gala Maybury (Edinburgh).

4 - See I don't believe you - if you're from further north & you dropped a penny it would have hit you on the back of the head you'd have been down after it so quick.  Grin

Rob at Gala Notts is trying to get approval to "flatten" rhe structure, thus folks more likely to play to the death. He has to get approval (amazing - it's OUR money!) but he's really trying hard for us. Give him time, & he'll get there.

Unlucky last night, but great to have you back amongst us.

I might mention him to Michelle at the Riverboat (Glasgow) - like you say, the deals get done anyway - it'd be better if there was a structure to it.

Pizza crunchs rock, can get em at one chippy here in Blackpool (amazing its ran by midlanders liek myself not scots) battered mars are so 90's battered xmas puddings are the best anyway

EWWW!!!

(Mind you Blackpool is officially part of Scotland  Wink

Anyway - the one that got the press wound up not long ago was:

Quote
THE MOST DANGEROUS SUPPER IN SCOTLAND?
CHEWIN' THE FAT
Fried battered sausage kebab has twice the calories of Big Mac

By David Taylor

FIRST came the humble fish supper, then the deep fried Mars bar but here's the mother of them all...the one thousand calorie Stonner kebab.

The fat-laden pork sausage, wrapped in a doner kebab, soaked in batter then deep fried is flying out of fryers. Creator Saei Sangag, has branded it 'the most dangerous supper in Scotland'. A 3 Stonner supper with a portion of chips has a gut-busting 1000 calories and 46g of fat.

Anyway - to get back on topic (slightly) - I'll need to get my finger out & get my home internet connection sorted or I'm gonna miss out on this tourney.

If Dirk Diggler is a porn star...... Then Rod Paradise MUST be... lol

And what with all the sweaty socks joining, are we giving away a free deep fried mars bar with every registration or something ? Wink

Seriously though welcome to the forum guys, the more the merrier. Smiley

Grin Porn star - I wish......

Well the invasion of the last couple of days is Dave's fault - we've got a small forum for the poker school we're in & he recommended the forum.

BTW Deep fried Mars Bars are so last year - the latest one's Pizza Crunch (a pizza, dipped in batter & deep-fried). And we wonder why Scotland tops the heart disease rankings  Huh?  Roll Eyes

Welcome to blonde Rod Paradise. First question - routine now it seems - where does the name come from?

And what is a "bevvy sesh" when it's at home?

You colonials really need to show more respect for the Queen's English you know. Did you know Her Majesty can have you beheaded if you don't toe the line?

Welcome!

Bevvy Sesh - drinking session (sorry not used to forums with people from Englandshire  Wink ).

The name - well it's a long story - my name would (in Glasgow at least) lead you to believe I was a Rangers fan. Michelle who runs the poker room at the Riverboat slagged me off about it & I let her know I supported Celtic. She suggested I should change my name to Rod Paradise (Paradise being a nickname for Celtic's ground) - it's kinda stuck with her at least.

Anyway Auld Lizzie's got no powers to have me beheaded - I hear it's legal to shoot at Scotsmen with a crossbow from the walls of York though.... They'd better watch out as I shoot medieval longbow & will have them beat for range  Grin

Yes and if youll notice ive Drafted in one of my good friends, and member of our home poker evening...

...The newest member.....Patman!! (Welcome Pat)

He's drafted in more than just Pat. Let me warn you guys - Dave starts out all nice on a board - but ignore every windup he tries when he's bored at work Wink.

Although this seems a very friendly forum, so he'll maybe save annoying the hell out of everyone for the other forums he's on Wink.

I'm sure I'll have seen a couple of other posters on here as a couple at least seem to play in the Riverboat in Glasgow as well.

Hello folks,

Rod

Another newbie -play in home games (the Tannochside Poker Tour with Dave) play in the 5 nights at the Riverboat (one final table finish so far - no money though Sad). Will probably take a trip in to the new place tonight (post work bevvy sesh permitting).

One bit of info, one question.

The Riverboat has changed a Monday night to a 5 No-Limit rebuy, first was this week (only about 18/19 people I'm told), but hoefully as people get to know about it there will be better attendance.

Does the Wasbah Club have set comps each night? (ie 5/10/20 no/pot limit etc) If so, could some kind soul tell me what's on what night & times of registration/start etc.

Cheers,

Rod
