Hmm no poker sites won't let you have 2 accounts officially. Yet as a sideline for the last 5 years i have been what is called an arbritrage sports bettor ( basically playing odds off against one another for a guarneteed profit) , now bookies hate my type as basically im a guarenteed winner and taking advantage of their poor odds setting. Anyway they use to reduce my limits on betting and it was an adventageous to me to try and set up another account to increase my limits. The basic trick was using a family/ friends house as a mailing address and then setting up an account with a switch card under that address. I had multiple accounts with about 15 bookmakers, in theory this could be done with poker bonuses i suppose tho i haven't done that yet!!!

Hmm afterthought why didn't i think of this before. Must go got something to do Tongue

Um yes example 2 looks fine Adam the 2nd player would have to make it up to 1500 total as the min raise is 500 as player 2 made it 500 with 500.
8433  Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: Rasing Question (following a ruling) on: October 12, 2005, 10:19:42 PM
My understanding Adam is that if you make it 500 preflop, that raise is made up of a call of 100 and a raise of 400, 100 with 400. So the raise is 400.

Player 2 if he/she wants to raise they can make it a minimum of 900 (calling your 500 and then raising 400, doubling your raise)

Player 3 then can make it up to a minimum of 1300, 400 more on top of the 900.

This is preflop as in affect the first bet is the big blinds 100.

Where you turned up when the word freeroll was mentioned. We like to have a sense of community here and aggro is not something we tolerate. Thats all i will say on it and i hope you enjoy your time here.

Yeah brilliant Phil and Adam im going to be a rich man with you two bubbling together before the real money. Hmmm what should i buy a new car or maybe a deposit on a house. No seriously a good effort to get that far and it really is a case of winning a few all ins with marginal hands at that stage, all in the lap of the poker gods.
8436  Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: Rasing Question (following a ruling) on: October 12, 2005, 03:47:37 PM
Hmm your asking me to guess so i would say somewhere between 11th and 20th where the massive life changing payouts are. You should be able to buy me in next week if thats the case, with your new found wealth Wink.

Oh yeah as its your thread Phil, how did you end up getting on last night.
8438  Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: Rasing Question (following a ruling) on: October 12, 2005, 03:19:59 PM
Seems like the right ruling to me i presume we are talking pre flop here. If player 1 makes it 600 to go,that is a call of 300 and a raise of 300 therefore the min raise is to call the 600 and put 300 more on top. Of course if it was post flop and player makes it 600 the min raise is then 600 with 600 more (1200 total) as this is a bet of 600 and no call is involved as the player has the option to check.

Dingdell if someone has gone all in and it is an under raise of the original raise then other players who haven't called the original raise can raise again. Anyone who has called the original raise can only call the all in as its under raise and therefore you are attempting to raise that under raise which is against the rules. That prob makes no sense but i tried.
8439  Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: Outplayed or badly played? on: October 12, 2005, 04:01:09 AM
Im offering a very ABC tight agressive answer here. I want to find out where i am as soon as possible thats why i re raise the flop, to call a re raise or re re raise you have to think what hands you are beating, my generous guesses are following AQ, KQ, slowplayed KK, um i running out of possibilities here. What are you behind to any 7 (tho im surprised its 3 7), slowplayed QQ. I think the hands that beat you are alot more likely therefore im happy to give the pot up by the turn or get a miracle 2 outer. Now i hear cries of that im leaving myself open to bluffs here but i don't care in the long term to be a winning playing at NL cash online i will put down the best hand once in a while.

I hope this doesn't across as harsh but i have done money with aces before in these types of situations and learnt the hard way. Rarely was i ahead.

Um tricky one this and the immediate reaction on this pot is that they " can't have a 7 in a raised pot" but they so often do. I would have played the hand differently:

1) Bigger raise pf i would have made it 8 to go, does the bb really call for 6 more here (probably not).

2) On the flop i make a similar bet to you bet when the min raise comes, i come back over the top to about 35 i think. That lets me know where i am if he calls or comes over the top i go into check/fold mode. If he hasn't got the 7 well thats poker but i think long term this play is a winning (loss limiting) play.

Interesting point about protecting you cards was underlined today with an incident at Notts in the £30 freezeout today. About 5 hands in a player limps UTG and then is raised to 300 (blinds 25/50) from a mid position player next to the dealer. It is folded back to the under the gun who calls. At this point the dealer accidentally mucks the cards of the raisor, he had them in front of him but no chip or protector on them. The floor is called and the rule in notts is that if the player can recall the cards and SUITS, the floor can retrieve them from the muck and the hand continues. Unfortunately raisor guesses wrong at the suits of the cards which as you may have guessed were aces (two red ones ironically, he said they were black?!). Then the under the gun turns over slowplayed kings. That has got to hurt. Hence the saying always protect your cards.

I have done my best to comment on what is going on here recently or post in the nasty threads. Yet i would like to pledge my support to Tikay and the good people of Blonde on getting the place back to its old self. It is a unique place and that has to be preserved even if it does mean taking some nasty steps.

Yeah seems like a reasonable read from what i have read so far, not quite cardplayer or 2+2 but a different market i suppose. As for Grub Smith's piece it is a lazy lads mag piece of writing that really should be ignored. I have actually played against him online and he seemed quite a nice bloke to be fair.

I believe the documentary you are on about is called the "Million Dollar Deal". Pokerzone were showing about every week, 6 months ago. The bit on Mike McGhee is brillant and heartbreaking to see someone throw it all away under the pressure of the situation. Oh and I believe its the 1998 wsop, 1999 was the year Noel Furlong won it.
