Yeah i did indeed final finished 9th for the paltry sum of 65 quid (better than nothing i suppose) all in shortstacked from the bb with k 10 lost to a j. As for the comp i thought it worked well and its good to see a no limit freezeout option now as a weekly option. It certainly suits my game no limit freezeouts so i think it will be a regular date in my poker diary. Also as Adam says it can be used as a form of satellite to Sunday nights comp, tho you have to finish higher than 9th!

As for the hand you went out on Adam, I honestly can say I and many others would do exactly what you did. You got your chips in when ahead and thats all you can do in this game.

Yeah i will be there as well people. The hangover has cleared and the chance to support another good addition to the Notts calendar is too good to miss.

I think its a bit of misconception that all "pros" are playing massive stakes. There are quite few mid/low stake grinders out there who will play all day making quite a reasonable wage over a course of time. Tho i think it would be a bit of step too far for myself to kick the job in, my stats show that over the last year with a few more hours a day put in i could have made a living playing poker. That has been playing .5/1 NL ring games (occasionally moving limits for more juicy games).
Our local pro clearly thought there was a big enough expectation in this game compared to the dealers choice game to justify playing at these limits. By the sounds of things he was probably right.

Damn you Baron both right.

Earnshaw scored a hattrick for the baggies last year and ones for Cardiff in the bottom 3 divisions.

Swindon Town does not contain any of the letters in MACKREL.

2 gold stars

Im with tightend on the nearest clubs Nottingham and Dundee sides.

A couple of Q's that haven't been asked (I don't think)

Who is the only team in the English Leagues whose full name doesn't contain any of the letters in MACKREL?

Who is the only player to score a hattrick in every division(top 4)  in England?

I won't rub it in Adam, its an easy pass, far too many hands you are losing too. I must say our local pro is quite brave there its a move of sorts to go all in with aq there, a standard re raise to £30 would have been my move. As i would have been of the belief that you would only call with a better hand than aq (whoops). Oh and this 10% wouldn't have been the lad to your right who you were dealing to all night (joke).
8452  Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: How much have you made/lost in the last year? on: September 20, 2005, 02:52:02 AM
Software wise i use to just keep me up to date with pure winnings and losses i use the limited poker analyst on cardplayer, its not great but free and tells me how im doing roughly. Poker tracker which i purchased recently tho is a poker geeks dream, tells you everything you would possibly want to know and loads else otherwise. The great thing i think is that once you get used to the stats, you can read an opponent very easily. Simply as he raises you can type his name and poker tracker will tell you how often he raises and often what with. Was on laddies the other day and a guy raised from ep do my thing as i held pocket jacks and wanted a read. He had never raised pf in 150 hands i had on him, i folded quickly. Someone else called him down and he turned over aces, nice!

Erm yeah im rambling but the only criticism i have is that it doesn't cover all site ie sporting odds where i find the nl cash games very soft, isn't compatiable with pt. Worth the money in my opinion tho

Started keeping online records in June i think my records show im approaching the 4k mark in profits online, $3889 to be precise which i am quite proud of. It is proving a very good 2nd income, i must admit to being a cash game specialist now and playing just about every spare moment i get.
8454  Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: Would they really fix it? on: September 18, 2005, 10:21:56 PM
I am a firm believer that online poker is NOT fixed in anyway, the companies would be committing commercial suicide to try such a thing. Also i use poker tracker (yeah i know yawn but its useful) and my stats seem to indicate no bias at all. AA holding up as many times as expected and being my most profitable hand followed by kings. Its a long term game and some very strange things happen in the short term
8455  Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: Multi tableing on: September 11, 2005, 11:14:04 PM
I don't playing more than 2 i find this allows me to concentrate and get a proper read on my opponents. I also think multitabling with limit poker is easier i play no limit and that is a less mechanical game and therefore requires more thought on certain decisions.

We decided on the train option to Blackpool hence no need for parking just a massive walk and therefore we could only play the fiver effort (bit different to the comp going on at home). I will get my only gripe out of the way first which is the blind structure leaves little play even in the rebuy period, but hey what do i expect for a fiver, is it the same structure for the bigger rebuy tourneys?
I must say i really enjoyed the experience nice card room and got a really friendly(as in non aggro there to enjoy the game) table, which im sad to say isn't always the case in Nottingham. There was also the non smoking thing with an open plan card room really does make you think that we would better going non smoking in Notts. Hopefully i will get the opportunity to play again sometime in one of the bigger comps.
Oh and no joy in making the money

Greatest debut album is The Stone Roses eponomyous album. A classic no matter how many times you listen to it. I just love the fact that every time it starts i think the sound is off my stereo but its just the intro to I wanna be adored.

IMO Definitley Maybe is a better than album than morning glory. It was raw but had a real effect at the time, i think Noel especially to prove at the time and that brought the best out of him. Its all about escapism which can only be expressed when you want to escape from something ie working class manchester. I think they went downhill when the money started rolling in. Morning glory is a good album tho
