Im up in the north west this weekend to visit some friends i was at uni with. Anyway we are planning to visit the Grosvenor in Blackpool on Sunday for the fiver chip throwing contest and possibly the 30 pounder afterwards. My mates are live casino newbies hence the opportunity of a low buy in is appreciated. Any info on the venue and rules of the cardroom from Blackpool regulars. For example is it self deal, how many can people can we expect for this event, so on and so forth.

Not sure about the rest Tikay but i do like the happy mondays but they were a bit hit and miss to say the least. Pills, thrills n bellyaches is a classic but alot of the other albums were mediocre. I had the (mis)fortune to see them support oasis back in 2000 on of their comebacks and to be honest they were a shambles. Sean Ryder completely on another planet, I think he had indulged quite a bit that day.

I have the Kasabian album and went off it very quickly. I don't really know why, it just started to grate, the only song i like now is LSF (lost souls forever). Never really hit off with The Music, tho there is very good instrumental track called "the walls are getting smaller" that i have off a NME compliation.

Very interesting didn't pick you lot for the heavier stuff. I am typical think of lad my age(25), i was a britpop child and have never really left. Massive oasis fan in my time (growing tired of them now), pulp, blur etc. Favourite bands now are probably Stone Roses and Joy Division / New Order. Think there has been some good stuff recently Kaiser Chiefs, Killers and particularly good album by bloc party IMO. Also liking the Joy Division esque stuff like Interpol and the new Editors album.

We only had 36 runners last week which produced 3 seats and a bit of cash. So I would expect more this saturday poss 60, so reckon about 6 seats. Finished about 1am last week, would probably reckon about 2 with the extra people. Not sure whether i will be there plans for the bank holiday are still up in the air.

Yeah thats me. Been wondering about that lay down since, turned out prob to be the wrong one but worked out alright, didn't realise i had fellow blondite to my left. It was 99 by the way i folded, but hey he had put the best hand down the hand before where his lone ace beat my kq. It helped my table image mind as i survived with a lot thievery on the final table.

The result was Jason, Raj and Big Dave won the seats. The 4th prize was split in an unofficial deal for 4th to 6th each taking 80 each of which i was one finishing in 5th.

Sorry bongo to clarify under the gun raises to 350 and mp player puts 350 in with 200 more. So he should raise a min of 700 total (350 with 350 more)
8473  Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: mis-played hand to share on: August 03, 2005, 08:55:21 PM
Yeah i won't add to pointing out the mistakes you made, you realise what they are and that is the important learning process. I actually called Rob over cos someone under raised on my table (was the only one who knew what an under raise was), Rob ruled cos he had try to go 350 with 200 that he had to put an extra 150, yet the newbie had clearly announced an intention to raise.
As for my night well my first live game where i didn't win one hand all very furstrating. At least you got some money Adam. How did you get on Phil any joy?

I tend to have sky on in the background with either poker, sport or music in the background. Or alternatively i have my stereo going with some tunes on. I have heard of people who have their home poker chips by them and riffle them while playing!
