DuskTillDawn is a poker only operation set up by a poker player and for other poker players, with the intention of providing the facilities for poker players to enjoy and play the game we love to play in a "proper poker" environment.

Many poker players do not wish to play (or wish they were not tempted by) the house casino games as they are aware of the inherent "edge" against them and how easily addictive and detrimental such house games can be.

I sincerely hope that the Magistrates considering this case do not allow the malicious objections of casino groups to prevent the reasonable competition and freedom of trade that , in my opinion, form the true and only basis of these malicious objections.

The casino groups only consideration is the profit margin that they feel may decrease if players have a convenient option to play poker without the temptation of inherently unfair house games.

Hi i would like to now the secret of winning on the internet .... How does one obtain one of these so called golden accounts .... Where do you sign up ? do you have to give them a % of your winnings ?  ouch

You do not need to give a % in order to have a "golden account" (parting with cash for it you maybe be getting confused with showers) but you do need to have testicles the same colour.

Also nice that you are need greedy- i now have a platinum account

Situation for u (and advice needed please)- In the last GUKPT in Cardiff I was going really well on the 1st night with about 30 mins to go I had 38k. Av end of play about 32k I think.
In the last half an hour I managed to lose about half my stack!!
Firstly re raising a serial raiser with QQ only to be put all in by the table chip leader..fold.
Folded to me I raise on the  button with 77 called by bb.flop 6 3 2 rainbow.he checked i bet quite big he dwelled then moved all in!! I passed he showed JJ! Happy but still gutted to losing lot of chips....
Do you still play the same way even though its late and end of play was near??

Something tellin me I did something wrong even though I was pleased with the way I played those hands...

Any advice would be great m8.

I do not think anyone can reasonably knock the way you played either hand.

In the first hand it is worth bearing in mind (though this does not mean that your fold was a bad one) that when the serial raiser raises and you re raise the opponent who then re raised you is aware that your range of re raising hands (versus the serial raiser) may well be wider than normal and so he is more likely to have a wider range of hands (many worse than QQ) with which he may re raise your re raise.

The likelihood of your QQ being in front depends on the nature of the player that re raised your re raise and only you can answer that based on the information available to you at the time.

Generally speaking if a player raises , you re raise and a player behind you re raises again, it is not often than QQ will be in good shape.


With regard to the 77 on the button i think you made a great lay down and again, subject to your perception of the player that check raised you Allin on the flop i think in many circumstances i would have great difficulty in making that good lay down.

All in all i think you played the hands very well .

Seriously though, how annoying was it to teach people who thought it a good idea to noisily eat a 5 course meal during taping?

It was temporarily shelved but is still on the shelf unfortunately.

The eating wasnt too bad and to be fair to some of those that did it was encouraged by the film crew in order to give that "real life" feeling apparently,

Yes he does still pay and will probably be playing a lot at this years WSOP. He doesn't play many circuit games and he believes it is bad value in terms of time and expenses as compared to how convenient it is on line- particularly when you are as good a NL cash player as he is.

Indeed he is a gent and very much a class player.- dont be surprised if he returns with a bracelet!

Just like to say congratulations Paul on winning your Cruise Ticket last night, didnt see any of the game, but i did notice with about 19 left you were bottom of the stack, so very well played, if it was anything like the "old days" when you were there I can imagine the accusations of it being "rigged" in your favour flying around thick and fast lmao.

yes i was lowest stack from about 23 players out down to about 16 with 3 seats but ended up winning it after plodding away.
Fortunately i only had 2 accusations of the software being rigged for me to win, quite a result i thought !!

Wot did you think of Lisandro Paul? I thought he played really weak throughout and there were definitely better players than him on that table.

To be honest at the table he certainly never gave the impression of playing in any way weak and considering the results he has had i would not say he was  a weak player and whatever way you describe his style it certainly works for him.

i did not notice him make a significant mistake ( given that he could not see the cards) and i think that is more important than appearing weak or strong.

I think he is a great player and i wouldn't say that any other player at the table could reasonably say they were a noticeably better player than him.

Whats your comments on this and what hand/hands did you put the internet qualifier on when he raised your flop bet?

Yes Marc did say that i played like a girl but that doesn't mean I'm going to let him take me from behind and pull my hair!

With regard to the hand in question i thought that my opponent had either JK J9 or a hand that in all probability could not win. On that basis i flat called his  check raise on the flop ( i was at this point tending to-wards a hand that could not win as most players if checkraising an amount that does not appear designed to induce a fold do so with a made hand when out of position - unlike those that re raise in position a relatively small amount so that they can win it with the bet, take control of the hand or simply get a free turn card , if they so desire).
I believed that my flat call would almost certainly mean he would bet the turn regardless.

The turn card ( a nine) was at that point about the worst card i could see. He bet and i flat called again. I could have re raised at this point however if he had  a made hand that virtually couldn't win ( i accept QJ or similar was possible) i did not want to lose him, if he had JK then re raising would be suicide so the only hand i would want to re raise was J9 and he may not fold anyway ( he was not a rock).
The river card ( a king) was again just about the worst card i could see and Marc saying that i should fold was probably right. Ultimately i called because i felt that with what was in the pot and the amount i had to call it was almost justified on the off chance that my initial feeling on the flop was correct. This combined with the inherent poker player need to punish yourself and still call after its all gone wrong and the milk has turned sour, resulted in the call.

Having said all that i was short stacked all the way through and i thought i was a little unlucky not to get down to the last 2 players and i think i would have done had i won the last hand.

Next time im on your table and we both get dealt aces  me the red ones you the black ones   how should i give you all my chips instead of getting away with just 850 when you get lucky and 4 flush me?

You need to learn to be less selfish under such circumstances- and i thought i was tight - u ROCK

As you know it is my responsibility to ensure that only a certain number of DTD shirts are worn in any casino in the UK .

To assist in this and help ensure that i do not lapse in my responsibility i intend to ensure that there is at least one busty female in the shirt at each event so if i have to ask someone to take I off , if we exceed our quota, i will have at least one pleasant option.

(2) try not to feel obliged to win every hand that you play ( particularly if you cant manage (1)
