Got some decent priced free nights from a booking company.
Has anyone tried making two bookings at same hotel staying in better quality room for first few days, and lower grade for the second part of stay, and been allowed to keep better room?
Never thought of it before, and strikes me Vegas is a good place to try it, using the free high value nights first, and then booking with cash for the cheaper rooms?
Any other good ways to play this?
Cheers
Had to book 2 blocks of 14 nights at the Plaza a few years back. Deluxe Rooms then Standard and yep let us stay in the deluxe for second booking

Everyone's different but I like getting a coach to the airport. You can take two cases and it's far more stress free than going by train. I've done that to Gatwick and to Heathrow in the past from Birmingham.
Not quick by any means but cheap and effortless if you're in no rush.
Doing National Express this year as no train on morning so a 345 am start Train again for me on Sunday. Sunday service well poor compared to during week. gonna take me at least 4 hours from Worcestershire

An observation when booking. Booked back in January for 17 nights in June through booking.com with the no payment taken till 24 hours before arrival sale deal they had.. Of course booked in sterling. Price in pounds I have to pay has gone up 5 per cent since I booked due to decline of sterling!!

Still some hotels slower than others to adjust, so reasonable prices can be still hunted. It won't take long for them to go even higher though, so it isn't a bad weekend to avoid. Unless you are playing the seniors event which I think is the same weekend.
Yeah same damn weekend, clashing same as last year.

There is no doubt DTD have been innovative over the years always willing to try new ideas. But from replies on here and from my own perspective I believe that the constant changes have cost the club players.
I used to be constantly checking up and coming tournaments at DTD but now find myself checking the site every few weeks or months. Yet I still look to play as many MTT's as possible but play elsewhere most of the time. My reasons are similar to previous entries on here.
I now dislike multiple re entries. They have changed the game and make tournaments more of a gamble then a skill game. I used to like re entry MTT's and late reg. for the extra value they add to the prize pool but over recent years I have completely changed my opinion.
I dislike the 'added seats' in the prize pool. They detract from payouts and mean that you can go quite deep in a tournament but the payout does not seem to reflect how well a player has done to get that deep (if they don't make the added seats part of the payouts).
I echo many views on here that would prefer to see smaller more realistic guarantees rather than added seats and multiple re entries.
I dislike the 50k starting stack with blinds starting 100/200/25. This structure is not representative of all of the other main tours in the UK.
It's just my opinion for what ever it's worth but I would like to see DTD get back to very limited re entries or freeze outs and drop the 50k starting stack structure. ( this months Deep Stack structure looks great. 30k and most if not all levels back in).
Also a more constant schedule would renew my interest rather than the constant changes of the past few years.
Have to say I agree with this post completely. Have been missing from DTD for a couple of years myself due to all the changes. However the club does seem to happily thrive and I guess I am part of a small minority looking at the numbers DTD achieves. I have found i enjoy smaller local tournaments more rather than the 4 hour round trip to DTD, but I do wish the club success

I mentioned it before, but would recommend the bloc hotel gatwick. Check out to sitting down to breakfast having checked in and gone through to the gate = 20 minutes.
Not sure I'd even pay the extra fiver for the window next time. When with my wife I get 30 minutes to sit around waiting, was never happening when on my own. Open blind, leave = 1 minute.
yeah do the bloc every time now. No window room. Excellent value

Before it started I swapped Tom Schneider out for John Kabbaj in as wildcard 2.
If that didnt count as a substitution can i swap John for Jake Cody as John doesnt appear to be playing any tourneys. If it will cost me points please then leave it as it is. didnt even defend his bracelet from last year!!
