1  Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: DUSK TILL DAWN - HAVE YOUR SAY AT THE COURT HEARING.............. on: August 10, 2007, 09:00:12 AM
I would love to play at dusk till dawn because I want to play and learn about poker in a poker environment. Rob and his team have put a lot of hard work and money into creating the best poker club in Europe, and if given their license will bring money and prestige to Nottingham. It's a no brainer really. Grant the license!

Gone for Arsenal 3-1 myself at 29/1 with Betfair.

I fancy Arsenal to up their game against United, but Man Utd have only failed to score one Premier League game this season (against Liverpool) so best value bet looks like 3-1 to me.

3  Poker Forums / The Rail / Obvious Naughtiness? on: December 24, 2005, 05:12:55 PM
I was playing a £30 STT on Befair earlier and the and suspected that a couple of players were doing something odd. The hand history is below. I emailed betfair with the hand history and was told that after studying the hand in question they concluded that they were playing as individuals with the only reason given is that they are from different parts of the country! He did also say that Brunette did have the full house.

I still think that they were acting odd, but am I misreading the situation, should I leave it there, or should I try and take it further?

For the record I won the tourney, and both the misleading players were eliminated outside the money.

I do remember a friend placing a bet on Trap 7 in a 6 dog race. The bookies took his money, and he didn't have the bottle to go back and ask for his money back!
5  Poker Forums / The Rail / Is it possible to get cheap last minute deals to Vegas? on: October 28, 2005, 09:52:03 AM
Any advice on getting really cheap last minute deals to Vegas?

I'm off work next week so would like to go over. I'm totally flexible on flight times. Had a quick search on the net but can't find any cheap deals.
6  Poker Forums / The Rail / Timeouts on Titan on: October 15, 2005, 04:49:20 PM
Has anyone experienced a timeout problem with Titan games (either last night or any other time)?

It was fine last night, but just playing a couple of sngs today I've been folded a few times, alledgedly for timeout, even if it wasn't my turn to act.

On 1 occasion it folded me on the turn just after i had called a check raise bet. I lost the chips I called with but the river was never shown. At the time I had broadway, so almost certainly would have won a massive pot.

I am currently waiting for a reply from their tech support.

Titan wouldn't have given us $5000 if we hadn't signed up lots of new players for them so it would be hard to eliminate the banner llinks. Perhaps a combination of the banner links and passwords would work though. Players would join the site through the link (and deposit if necessary). Once the registration is complete an email is sent to the player asking them to get the password through Blonde.

The rebuys period could have been a little shorter, and maybe allow add-ons at the end of the rebuy period to help build the prize-pool.

Other than that an excellent tournament. I learnt a fair bit from some very good players, and the whole event was played in a good friendly atmosphere. Well done to all those involved.

Out in 28th. Would have settled for that before the start, but should have done better given the position I was in. Hope TraceT doesn't kill me for wasting her chips!

Anyway thanks to TonyG and all the others for organising a great tournament. Looking forward to the next one already.

Tony G was knocked out by Totalpoker. Total hit the flush on the river, after Tony was all in on the flop

Earlier this year, while I was in Malaysia I was watching TV in my flat with a local girl who I'd recently met. The news was on, and there was a story about David Beckham so I asked this girl if she knew who David Beckham was....'I don't think so' she replied. I was quite surprised as I thought everyone had heard of him so I asked about a few more celebs.

Posh Spice - Yes
The Pope  - Yes (She was very sad that he had died)
Homer Simpson - No

An advert then came on the TV for some Elvis Cds. Laura knoew who Elvis was, but then asked if he was dead or alive!

Taken with a pinch of salt I think the book is an entertaining collection of short stories. You won't learn anything from the book, but it's fine for passing the time in an airport lounge.
13  Poker Forums / The Rail / Poor Play? on: September 29, 2005, 11:21:40 AM
I was playing in a £10 PL rebuy tourney at a casino last night. We were a few hands into the freezout period and I was the short stack at the table with 1500 chips and the blinds at 200/200. I had just been moved to the table so didn't know much about my opponents, but suspected the play was tighter than on other tables as there were less chips in play on this table than the others.

I was on the button, and before the play got to me there had been 6 limpers. I moved all-in with A7 Diamonds hoping that I'd face maybe 1 opponent, get lucky, and treble up. Instead I got 4 callers. The flops was rags and the first 2 people checked. The last person to act bet big, and the other folded leaving me heads up with AJ. The seven didn't come on the turn or river and I was out.

My question is was my move reasonable in the circumstances, or should I have folded and waited for something a little stronger, or even just waited for any 2 cards where I could put my money in the pot first without any limpers?

I don't know much about Oz, but I was in Malaysia for a few months earlier this year. The cost of internet access depends on where you stay. If it's a Western chain of hotels you'll probably end up paying close to normal hotel rates for Internet access (£10-15 per day). Some places though may do you a deal if you're there for a while. In Malaysia they also use the same power outlets as the UK,  so your 3 pin plugs will be fine without any adapters.

If you are in Kuala Lumpur I can highly recommend the Beach Club Cafe, not far from the Petronas Towers. In my opinion it's the greatest bar in the world, and being single was an advantage. It's still a good night out though if you take your gf / wife.

15  Poker Forums / The Rail / Anyone been to Gala in Stockton-on-Tees? on: September 12, 2005, 11:15:24 AM
Has anyone been to the Gala casino in Stockton-on-Tees  on a Wednesday night for the £10 PL tournament?

I'll be working in the area for the next few months and would like to know if it's a good tournament or if I'd be better off going a bit further afield?
