My best ever hero call was this..........
I'll give you the whole hand in detail as advanced as i can think and round the money to english sterling, it was basically a 1/2 game.
at this point i'd been playing an hour, i knew 4 of the 9 players cos we play in Blackpool a lot. The guy to the left of me lost a very decent sized pot but was a bit of rock as well as the the other players in the hand, they were all reasonably tight.
i hadn't made any plays yet and my showdown rate was very tight so anyway.......
there was an UTG limper and a mid limper (one of my locals), i was on the button with 10-7 of diamonds i limped. then the sb made it up and the bb checked.
flop was 3-5-8 with one diamond
sb check, bb check, UTG bets 6, my local passes, i call with the intention to make a move because he didn't look very strong and i always go with my reads, sb calls and bb calls also.
turn is Q of spades putting 2 spades out
they all check to me and i make my move 24, the sb calls pretty quick and the other 2 get out of my way.
river is the ace of hearts missing the flush draw and only filling up 1 of the smaller straight draws.
This chinese guy says how much you have left in the little english he knows and i show him which is about 120, he looks at me and bets out 80, now at this point i only have him on 2-4 or 6-4 as he can't be calling me down and leading out with any other hand, i say to him you either have 2-4 or 6-4 he doesn't understand and laughs, now i think about the hand a bit ago where he lost his big pot and put him on getting it back and this is a good chance.
so for that reason and the fact he looked pretty calm but the feeling i got and the tiny way he looked nervous i made the call, he had 6-7 for the other draw but it was in the same category as 6-4, the funny thing was he was going to muck but i insisted he turn his cards now if he had a jack high for some reason id of been sick but hey ho i got away with it. lol.
i reacted pretty weird from it and started shaking which is something i dont normally do but i have waited 3 years for this moment.
and thats it, my Macau hand that will go down in history to all that were at the table including Kenny Tran when my mate shouted not even Kenny can make a sick call like that. But they were impressed and that added to how much i enjoyed it.
