I saw something on Twitter yesterday which really made me think.

Back in 2015, when the Referendum was first proposed, I really don't recall much noise or hoohah about the EU at all. Just a few Brits having a little grumble now & then, as per our national character.

Then the Referendum was called, since when we have become a Nation torn in two, with both sides entrenched, & bad blood galore, Brexit dominating headlines & Social-Media day after day, several Prime Ministers, & Ministerial resignations by the score.

Was there really such a national uprising that demanded we leave the EU & cause all this bad blood?

Meanwhile, Government seems to have had no sense of urgency throughout. Easter & Summer recesses have taken place, nobody considered (until the last few days) the very thought of sitting at weekends or on Bank Holidays. The upcoming Party Conference Season will cause another 3 weeks of no action, & yet Party Conferences have no real purpose except ra ra & back-slapping.

It's all so surreal.

Just backed Tory majority in next election at 7/4. I’d be interested to see what Tighty thinks of that bet given the improving polling with Johnson in charge and his hardline on Brexit.

Interesting angle to want his opinion after placing the bet. General wisdom would suggest it should be the other way around.

I think most seats is highly likely but 7/4 a majority is not a good price imo, they will need close to no BP support and I don’t see how he achieves it.

Isn't there a realist possibility that the narrative could be:

- we crash out of the EU with no deal at the end of October
- we have an early election
- all the Brexit party votes go to the Conservatives because Brexit has been delivered
- that gives the Conservatives a majority(?)

Each bullet point of that could come with a lengthy piece of analysis; but it definitely doesn't seem like something that could be entirely out of the question.

Collaboration - working with others towards a common goal, the action of working with someone to produce something (e.g an outcome) - it's a perfectly appropriate use of the word.

Remainers aren't quislings yet though I'm sure some aspire to be

embarrassing, you know exactly what the connotations of that word are.

When people describe how many of something by saying 'over' a number rather than a specific number e.g. 'Over 20 people were killed by donkeys this year' What? Why not tell me how many exactly? Is it 21, 25, 50 or 20,000? Should I be super wary of donkeys or not?

I could also see the EU deciding that the deadline can be extended if a member doesn’t have a sitting parliament and refuses to communicate on an ambiguous situation, like for example the border. The UN Security Council should be interested now.

I’ll give you a spoiler alert buddy. The EU won’t extend the deadline. Chiefly because they are bored to absolute fuck with Brexit.

He's obv making all the right noises and could well lead to majority govt if repeated in an election. Personally much happier with him in the negotiating seat as opposed to maybot.
