Sean Belton.

He did a wonderful diary on here a few years ago, brutally honest and self-deprecating, such a talented writer.

I re-read it last week, it covered his attempt to make it as a pro poker player, his health, fitness and diet regime and his marriage to girlfriend Beth.

I was quite involved by the time he signed off somewhat suddenly around the beginning of 2014 and I wonder how things turned out. Did he become a graphic designer, a personal fitness coach, the head of MI5 or what?

It would be great to hear from the man himself but any update would be appreciated.

Seen him after lockdown dealing at DTD a few times, but Pops' update above is more recent.

With most of the jobs you referenced above, gonna take a guess that lockdown/restrictions set him (and others) back a lot.

At the end of 2023, when the Media do their "Most Iconic Images of 2023" this will be #1.

Describe this image in one word.

I would, but I'd probably get banned for what I want to say.

So I'll just go with "covfefe"

Funnily enough I was just thinking about the lack of posts this morning.

Then my mind wandered and now I am wondering about the answer to a question that has intrigued me occasionally.

Who was spacefrog?

And yes, Half Kill games are enormous fun. I've never seen Kill or Half Kill games in the UK, and have no idea what games they apply to - is it only 08 & the other split pot games? And  - sheer guess this - but did you first encounter Kill games during your Canadian odyssey? I'm guessing Limit poker is or was the norm in the USA & Canada at the time. It's pretty big now if the Orleans is any guide, there are always 15 or 20 Limit cash games on the go.

It's any Limit game. Doesn't work in any other type of NL/PL. I know at Orleans in the LHE games the kill is activated if you win two or three pots in a row (think its two) but not sure how it s activated in split pot games.

Right, when are we drafting and also when are we paying? I am completely away on a family holiday in Vegas between Aug 25 and Sep 7 so needs to be before then.

People always laugh at me when I say this but given prices at the moment, I'd be factoring in a couple of nights in Dublin either side of a Vegas trip nowadays.

Yes you won't save much unless you're willing to go UK-DUB-STOP-LAS on the same day (which I do and dont recommend unless you love flying, its tough) but at least the £300 you'd save on the flight you get to spend on beer and food and having a good time rather than the UK Govt and Woolly Jumper's pocket.

Plus if your 1 stop is somewhere like Dallas, LA, San Fran or Denver (or anywhere in the US rather than Heathrow/Amsterdam) you get to go through US Security at Dublin before you board and just walk off the plane at the other end.

On the other hand, sometimes its just worth it to fly direct. Especially with BA where you dont land til 8pm in the evening at Vegas and as such, the time difference isnt as bad.

Other than Harrison this seems like a pretty solid table. Duek chipped up is gonna be a problem.

Horseshoe   672   1   Viorel Tonef   United States   1,430,000   57
$6k in cashes, all from LA/Vegas but stretch from 2009 to now. Would assume cash game player personally on seeing this.

Horseshoe   672   2   Michael Duek   United States   2,670,000   107
3rd in Main last year sums this up. Ouch.

Horseshoe   672   3   Yaroslav Ohulchanskyi   United Kingdom   2,450,000   98
Says from UK but appears to be a Ukranian. $25K in cashes - $20k from this year's WSOP. Nothing pre-2021 so assuming younger online reg.

Horseshoe   672   4   Oleksander Gnatenko   Ukraine   565,000   23
$683k in cashes. Been playing for years on the circuit from the looks of it (Russia, Cyprus, America results since 2009)

Horseshoe   672   5   Jordan Westmorland   United States   1,150,000   46
$1.18m in cashes. Came 3rd in EPT San Remo when Vicky Coren won it. Looks like a well known pro.

Horseshoe   672   6   Robert Harrison   United States   2,475,000   99
There are 5 Robert Harrison's from the US on THM, two of which have tournament results from this year. Dunno which one it is but neither has more than $20k reported cashes.

Horseshoe   672   7   Luis Dorneles   Brazil   1,275,000   51
Think this guy is an online Brazilian player. Lot of online WSOP cashes from 2021/2022 including 6th in online Milly Maker for $223k. Also won a $400 daily for $33k at this year's WSOP.

Horseshoe   672   8   Stuart Rutter   United Kingdom   520,000   21
Legend.

Horseshoe   672   9   Nils Bardsley   United States   395,000 16
Been around forever but only one result since 2019. Just under $300k in reported cashes. Plays a lot of tournament stops in Colorado.

Just glanced up at the TV which has the WSOP delayed live stream up from the bubble.

Laughed when I realised I could see Stu updating us on his phone, on the TV, whilst it was H4H as he was stood in the camera shot

ETA: At least, I thought it was Stu, but I'm not 100% sure...if he is wearing a Grosvenor Poker.com hoodie then it was him, if not, it looked like him...

Thanks everyone, it's really very much appreciated.

Tough times as I'm sure a few of you will understand.

Not a celeb but I know there were a few blondes who came to my wedding back in 2011 as part of the APAT tour and had the pleasure of meeting my Mum, who even got involved in the wedding night poker comp at the Tropicana despite never having even watched a hand of poker before.

Sadly I lost her last week to cancer after a 4 year battle. RIP Mum. Cry
