Karabiner: 12k
Red Dog: 18k
Gurpreet Nagi: well over 50k; a possible chip lead contender at this time
Michael Greco: officially my Climber Of The Day - he's somehow clawed his way up to the heady heights of 40k.

Nicholas Myers is OUT, somehow getting in with Q-T against Lloyd Griffiths' A-K. An ace on he board sealed it -- there was a jack on the board too, but no straight appeared and out he went, with a handshake.

Also OUT is Jason Wheatley. He got it in with Q-T against the thoroughly dominatey A-T of David Welch and after an uneventful 6-2-8-K-7 board, off he went to the bar, just as a 10 minute break/chip race was announced.

Rana Gurnam has also taken a hefty hit, and while doing so has almost doubled up Nicholas McLellan. With the board reading three clubs , I strolled up to the table to find Rana dwelling and eventually making that classic sign that he intended to fold: "Will you show if I fold?"

He duly folded and McLellan duly showed: for quads.

"Great pass," commented Mickey Wernick, strolling by the table.

Rana slips a little to around the 50k mark; McLellan lunges ahead on around 40k.

Mr Nick Hicks has taken a wee hit, doubling up Mr David Stratton in the process.

Mr Stratton was racing for his tournament life with against Hicks' , and the two spades did the Stratster a world of good. The Hickster politely tapped the table, but, in spite of the hefty 45k that he has behind, it was a sad day for Hicks:

Mr Barry Neville - seems to have clawed a few back; currently on 17k.

Mr Dewi: around 30k.

did he say how many chips he is on

Er, not many. About the same as last time I counted them. Does anyone remember that far back? I'll count them again when I pass by there...

Mr Barry Neville filled me in on how he came to be so short, in his own inimitable style.

"That daft c*** in seat 1 [Lawrence Gosney]..."

Anyway, moving away from the inimitable reporting style of Mr Neville, it turns out that Neville raised with pocket tens, bet 3.5k on the 3-3-3 flop, another 3.5k on the 4 turn, and Gosney flatted him all the way down to the jack on the river. Gosney had Q-J. Not a happy Barry.

Mr Mike Hill is OUT. With the board reading Two Clubs , it looked like it might be a thrilling three-way all-in fiesta at one point -

- but in the end the third gent involved passed, and Mr Hill was all in with against Dave Wall's Two Diamonds. The river was a doesn't-change-anything , and out he went.

Current chip leaders as far as I can see are 1) still Harpit/Rana Gurnam, and 2) Lawrence Gosney, both on 50k+. Former chip lead contender David Robertson has slipped back to around 30k somehow; possibly connected to this is the double up that Michael Greco seems to have enjoyed, putting him back up to around his starting stack.

HOW ABOUT NICK MCLELLAN AND DAVE LEA PLEASE Huh?Huh???

David Lea went out 205th. Nick Mclellan has 19k.
205th eh, the clock says there are still 213 in

Clock = Floppy's responsibility entirely today. He said. I shall beat him when he gets back to his laptop.

Mr James Atkin: OUT.

Short-stacked owing to races lost earlier in the day, he ran into and the board gave him the merest glimmer of hope before smacking him back down to earth and out of the running.

Still seems cheerful though.

Booder: 12k
Darren Shallis: 6k
Dave Colclough: 4k
Dewi: 30k

Play is about to restart.

Who will be celebrating like this when they win?

[ ] He does not deserve to have his skull cracked open with his own bat

Give him a break, that was the only point he scored in that match.

Almost as down on his luck as those recent bustees is Michael Greco. With around 10k in the pot by the river of the board, he bet 4.5k, leaving himself just 4.5k behind. Eventually his opponent, one David Robertson, called. "You win," said Greco even before Robertson had turned over his pocket fives for a set, and mucked.

Robertson up to an impressive 50k or so.
