I arrived at the table to see Gurpreet Nagi bet 10.2k on a flop, and Ben Vinson move all in on his ass, as it were, for another 17.9k. Call. Nagi: Vinson: Turn: River: Vinson's winning hand only got winninger, and he enjoyed a much-needed double up to 75k. Nagi on 91k after that.

A most unlikely disaster for Nicky Mclellan. He raised to 8.5k in early position only for Tania Narine to shove for 35k or so to his immediate left. A call, and it looked like a split pot... Mclellan: Narine: Flop: (some oohing at the table) Turn: (the sound of everyone holding their breath) River: (everyone makes a face like someone farted) Ouch. Narine: up to 80k Mclellan: down to just 20k

Erik Naslund saw a flop with Gurpreet Nagi; it was 2x. Naslund bet out, and Nagi called. Onwards to the turn. Turn: another 7 Both players checked, and they proceeded to the river. River: , putting a flush out there for the less observant. Naslund checked, and Nagi bet (more or less) a stack - enough that it would leave Naslund with only 35k if he were to call. He passed, and Nagi is on 115k currently.

Identity theft! I'm still in and sitting next to the chip leader!
Oh, that's awkward, seeing as we've already made a bunch of jokes out of your name. I'm beginning to suspect that the DTD seating plan is unreliable... Ahhh, it was the guy to your right who busted out. Don't suppose you found out his name...?

Good lord, this Mr Jesper Persson, who is clearly our chip leader on perhaps 270k; he seems like actually quite an attractive sort of chap when you see him in real life, with that Young Scandie kind of look, but he doesn't half take a bad photo. Click to see full-size image. |

Oh dear, a bit of a bluffy disaster for Ben Vinson. He became Involved in rather a large pot with Mr Steve Vine, and came off maybe 40 or 50k worse for it. Vine raised from the button, and I believe Vinson reraised from the big blind. Call. Flop: Not sure who bet first, but VInson either check-raised or bet then re-raised. Call from Mr Vine. Turn: Vine bet 9k, and Vinson raised to 40k, enough to cover Vine. Some considerable dwelling followed, largely involving Mr Vine staring vacantly at the board, and then Mr Vine called. Vine: for second pair Vinson: for a lame gutshot River: which did not ring Vinson his straight Vine doubles up to well over 80k, while Vinson is down to 50k or so. A double up for Mr Steve Jelinek with pocket kings versus the pocket jacks of a disgruntled opponent whose name I can't possibly hope to guess. Not sure whether the chips went in before or after the flop, but the texture of the board was more or less one king and a bunch of rags, and Mr Jelinek was saying, "Well, you had to call..." Not at all surprised at his masterful doubling-up skills: Click to see full-size image. |

UPDATEDavid Lea spotted at the bar, therefore presumed OUT. ------------ Barry Neville, 43k and standing up for no reason I can see: Click to see full-size image. |
Lawrence Gosney, what Floppy said a post or two back re. his chip count: Enormo-stack Alistair Cairns, previously on 170k but now on a still very large 130k we reckon:

David Lea, 20k - "It's hard to look happy when you've just lost half your stack." Nicky Mclellan, 50k: Chris Rhodes, not sure because he'd just won a fairly big pot and the chips were all splatted around in front of him, will check chip count on next tour of the cardroom: Click to see full-size image. |
