https://www.nytimes.com/2017/03/26/magazine/trump-vs-congress-now-what.html

I have read a vast number of articles on Trump over the last few months but I think this one may be the most interesting/informative of the lot. It tells of how he got involved with Bannon, and won the Presidency, but also outlines how difficult it will be for him to achieve anything.

It is extremely long though.

Does anyone know if Scotland would have to pay a bill to leave the UK?

A great day as Donald Trump's signature plan to repeal Obamacare fails. It's also going to impact on his plans for tax reform - so much winning.

I have had a reply to a PM so he seems to be fine.

Am I the only one who can't look at Jeff Sessions without thinking of this guy?

I didn't start supporting them on the day they beat them, I am not that fickle. 5-1 is quite possible as I do get confused with the 7-0 victory over Southampton a little later, or earlier. The Southampton match was when the commentator started to count the passes they made without Southampton touching the ball.

It has nothing to do with location, more an older brother who supported Man Utd and my need to support a team that beat his, and in the late 60's that meant the mighty Leeds. I can still recall the joy of beating Man Utd 5-0.

I'm just waiting for the expected slump, scrape into the playoffs, and out in the first match. I watched some of last nights game and if they do somehow get into the premiership then I will look to back them to go back down straight away.

I cheer myself up by watching Peter Lorrimer goals on Youtube.

I think it shows what a mess the law makers have made of the game. It is easier to stop teams playing if that is the intention of a team. In the old days we would have seen 50 yard driving mauls and It aly would have had to put people in to stop that.

Hopefully that match will have put paid to any idea of Farrell captaining the Lions.

I would love to see Trump's state visit cancelled and given to the Mexican President instead.

When I first saw the white house press secretary, Sean Spicer I thought he would be the insane, nut job face of the administration. Now he doesn't even make the top 5 repugnant people there. In fact he can seem quite normal and competent. I love watching the BBC4 program on Mon- thurs at 7pm 100 days.

Morning Mr T.

The chelsea buns were a triumph. I took some of them into my local bookies and they were in awe. I like to do something for them as they make me tons of coffees whilst I am in there, and they have listened to my coffee requirements  (strong, 2/3rd's of a cup, no sugar, and a white cup) and I get excellent coffee now. I also have given them banana cake and scones before.

Morning Mr T.

This little story may add some of your wished for levity. I noticed your post about Walter Swinburn on the horse thread and I heard this on the radio shortly after his death. Someone told the story about after his retirement he went to Regents Park with his teenage daughter, or maybe it was his niece, and they decided to hire a couple of horses for an hour. The lady in charge was far too young to recognize, and probably had never heard of him anyway. She asked him if he had much experience of riding horses and he replied "  Yes, a little bit " he failed to mention the Derby win. She instructed him to mount up and then spent 5 minutes telling him his posture was wrong and he needed to be more upright, before she let him loose in the park.

I am in the process of making Chelsea Buns for the first time, if you were in the vicinity I would invite you over in a couple of hours to be the first to try them.

Anyone who enjoys watching Piers Morgan have a tough time, most of us I reckon, will enjoy the last 15 minutes of this weeks edition of " real time with bill maher ". Some aussie comedian really lays into him over his fondness of Donald Trump.

I was looking for a new show to watch and came across " Halt and catch fire". I am not sure if it has been mentioned in this thread before, it is now in it's 3rd series, but I am really enjoying it. Set in the early 80's it follows the staff of a computer company trying to take on IBM by building the first laptop. The script, and acting are very good and it is an interesting story too. It has a similar feel to " Mad Men " but not as polished. I'd give it a solid 8/10.
