I posted earlier in the thread, but it got lost amongst all the good advice. Give us an email and I'll shoot you over the excel tool I used for cutting weight last year.

You input all your statistics and it will tell you exactly what your BMR is and from your prot/carb/fat ratios it will tell you exactly how much of each you should be looking to eat each day.

The best way of doing things is to record proteins/carbs/fats and not just fats. You're a bit of a stat man, so it will probably appeal to you knowing exactly what you're putting in and tinkering with it to hit targets.

Matt has said you need some carbs, there are a fair few in your intake and they're  just disguised, so a key is balancing them up with some cleaner carbs like rice/pasta/vegetables.

The Tomato soup will have around 30g of carbs in  and 20g of those from sugar.

Apples (14g/100) and grapes(18g/100) are higher carbs than watermelon (7.6g/100) or Honeydew (9g/100)

This is all just for reference, but obv apple carbs >>>>> biscuit carbs unfortunately because I love biscuits!!

Like Matt used to do himself, I got to the stage I worked out to the gram and weighed all my food.

Aiming for 200g protein, <100g carbs, <50g fat per day and trying to fit my meals around that.

I used to get 500g of lean steak mince, a jar of Uncle Ben's chilli sauce and that would make me up 3-4 meals

UncBen’s Chilli   Protein:11.5g,  Carbs:49.5g,  Fat:3.5g  (Fibre 15.5g)         Cals 310

Steak Mince   Protein:23g(100g),  Carbs:0g,  Fat:10g (4.5g sat)      Cals 171

Rice 100g    Protein: 3g,  Carbs:30g,  Fat:1g,      Cals 141

At first it's annoying, but once you have the numbers in your head it's easy enough to get around and when you have OCD tendencies fun Cheesy

I use an MRP shake for my breakfast and it is blended with oats.

My Protein MRP: Protein 40g
                        Carbs 23g
                        Fat 4.6g
                        294cals

http://www.myprotein.com/sports-nutrition/true-mrp/10529863.html

Normally keeps me going until lunch or mid afternoon and has a great nutritional profile.

Kinboshi could probably do better than to recommend you snacking on fig rolls and the like Cheesy Fine for a racing snake who's doing more miles on the road than I do in my car every week, but for us who like to ride the bread express it's not so handy and cleaner foods are in order.

Been there, done it, Ant, most of us have.

The vehicle for my dreams, and RTG, was Brentford FC.

Go figure.

But when reality comes to us, it aint so bad, life still looks good. Boring? Not a bit, quite the contrary to see things more clearly.

Ashamed to say I lived in Brentford for close to 2 years and never once went to a match at Brentford Sad

I lived in Holland Park Gardens, just off the Kew Bridge and around the corner from the ground I believe.

Silly really when it was on my doorstep, I wish I'd popped along for a look if nothing else, isn't there something unique in it's placement somehow?

Much better to bet the on the Asian handicaps +1 around evens as you get your money back if they lose by a goal which is a fairly big runner.

Milligan is a punter though and wants the big hit Cheesy

Nice start Rich well done, I'm a carb binger myself too... More of the sweet variety, Haagen Daz, Lindt, but I have been known to murder a Tiger loaf in a day too Sad

I've not got access to it at the moment, but I've got an Excel product which is amazing to use for dieting. You enter all your details into it age/height/weight and it will tell you your BMR.

If you PM me an email, I'll send it over as soon as I can for you to have a look at. It's really easy and even I managed to operate it with no problems so you'll be fine Smiley

From that you can work out how many calories you lop off in order to drop weight. 500 a day for 1lb, 1000 a day for 2lb etc.

With regards to the missing meals, when I'm monitoring what I eat I go by the basis IIFYM 'If it fits your macros'.

I have daily targets that I have devised from the calculator I mentioned earlier and my target for the day is to get somewhere close to the numbers in that. It doesn't matter if I eat 6 meals or 2, as long as I hit the protein/carb/fat targets for the day it's all good!

I actually enjoy trying to hit the targets once my head is into it and it becomes a game of sorts Cheesy

Maybe wrong mate, but I think all weather has it's own title and ours won't start til turf season?

Yuh, Graham Lee was put up here for the Flat season proper, which starts next month. I'm getting keener though.

Cheers chaps, might have to subscribe to the 2 racing channels and rail him to victory!

Couple of tiny bets for Southwell tomorrow.

1.50 £5 ew Lord Buffhead @ 16/1 with VC
4.20 £10 ew Masai Moon @ 6/1 with PP.

Noticed Graham Lee rode the winner in one of the races earlier today, and also one in another race I watched yesterday.

Hopefully another epic sweat for fred and a bunch of us I imagine. Is there somewhere we can check the standings thus far, and what date does the championship end?

Same as a few others, didn't have any questions myself. Really enjoyed reading this though, it was very interesting.

Congrats and all the best for the future!

Jeff Burke was a quite extraordinary Online cash-game player.

He was the wrong age to be respected, but jeez, I have met very few people who really crushed Online Cash Games, but Jeff was one of them.

Chris Smith has always been a good friend of blonde, as it happens. We had dinner on a few occasions, trying to broker blonde-based deals etc, but they never quite came off. He always said, repeatedly, "if blonde are ever in trouble, come see me & I'll try & sort it".

Richard Herbert? Wowzer. Think the last time I saw him was at the Monte Carlo Millions, in 2005, in which he finished 7th.

That was the day that Paul Jackson & Phil Ivey played that amazing hand.

In the same final were TonyG, (then a Shareholder in blonde) Marc Goodwin, John Juanda, & a Scandie I have not heard of for some years, but he was "The Man" back in the day, Bengt Sonnert. (Sp?).

He was definitely one of the most consistent and never had a losing year for Badbeat!

Chris is a really great guy,  the story behind John T's WSOPE entry was brilliant and typical Chris. He had bought John into a £1k sat for it in London, but due to miscommunication John didn't play.

Chris called him and said something to the effect if 'ill just buy you in, I'm not wasting another 1k when you don't turn up for the tournaments'

He rest is history and I'm sure he was happy with his share of over £500k Cheesy

I take it you've been to Ricardo's a few times then? When I went for my interview to become a trader back in 2005, Chris came on the phone to tell me to pack a bag. When i asked why, i was told not to ask questions and just do it.

I got to London and took a taxi to the offices No1 Knightsbridge, where his main company Manro-Haydan was based. The interview  was quite short, at the end he informed me I had been booked into a hotel over at Lancaster gate and dinner was at 8, great guy and such a character!!

Monte Carlo was used by Chris and John to put the company out there and I suppose that worked out better than expected!

(Apologies for derailing your diary Alex)

Just to clarify, we have 4 different horses, in 2 races, at Southwell this afternoon.

13.40:

Ridgeway Hawk £5 Win @ 18.05

Upper Lambourn £5 Win @ 12.67

15.15:

Gouray Girl £5 EW @ 25/1

Nazreef, £10 EW @ 4/1

Somewhat bizarre. No horses for ages then 2x2 at Southwell!

Fwiw Nazreef unbeaten on the surface(a few years since he ran on it tho), but was priced up on the SL tissue at 14-1. Gouray girl moved to a stable where the money normally a massive factor, and none so far.
Just to muddy waters further and old friend/enemy Docothebay, also has a rather intersting profile of 1 win and 1 second on the surface and very well in on even his modest form.

I backed Camels last night in a sleepy blur at 3am. I had waited for some market movement for all of horseys three, but the only one that has been backed hasnt shown any decent form since his days at Osbournes.

First race, I shall leave, and second may end up having some tiny banzai FC and TC, more in blind hope than any confidence, whilst cheering on Camel sel. GL

As suggested, but had more on Camels than mine. Forecast bumpred it up tho!

Sigh, missed that post wp
