I'm supposed to be travelling to Lincoln tomorrow from the West Mids, does anybody know what it's like up that way?

Thanks

Probably already on your way, but it's not too bad - major roads all clear - A46 is clear, which I guess you might be using. I did Newark to Nottingham this morning and the only problems were on the local roads at each end of the journey.

We had some more in Nottingham this morning, but it actually seems to be melting a bit, even though the thermometer says 0.0C right now.

Thanks Rex although I've just got back home now. Roads weren't too bad at all.

Cheers

I first came across Blonde through a live update at the main event in the Midland Masters fessie at Walsall a couple of years ago.
Although I've played poker for over 20 years it was my first major tourney which i played in. As i made it to day 2 of the event my young kids wanted to know how i was getting on (i came 8th Smiley ).
Blonde came to the rescue!!

Ever since, although not a constant poster, there are not many days I don't logon to Blonde to browse the various forums and catch up with all the blogs and general banter all of which makes Blonde a great place to be part of.
Although I enjoy the live updates it's not all that it's about and I will continue to stalk amongst the forums and occasionally join in.

I don't play enough online poker (because I'm crap at it) to offer much support in that way but If there was some kind of members affiliates scheme or membership fee to help keep Blonde going through hard times I would gladly muck in.

Long live Blonde and all who sail in her.

I'll stick $20 in your blonde Cardroom Account if you come up with the best caption to EITHER of these two pics of 4 degens I saw in Brighton.

To judge the Comp, I nominate.....bolt.

Picture 1. (The plump one to the right as we look is NOT le knave),

I've heard of a rub down but this chap here's got his nob out!

I recently installed a free media centre app called TVersity onto my main pc. I can now share all video files, music, pics accross my small home network and TV. It can even be set up so I can view my films accross the internet when I'm away. (not tried this yet). This also installed a 'codec pack'.

Not sure if this is any help but thought  it worth mentioning.

This is bad news. If this trickles through the whole of the USA and they eventually change their stance on poker, then inevitably the UK will follow, as we copy everything the yanks do like clueless lemmings.

For me, a big attraction of poker is it's status in the UK as 'gambling' (even if we all know it is wrong), meaning I don't pay any tax on my winnings. Were that to change I think the game would lose a big part of it's charm for me.

Having said that, I don't think it will happen any time soon.

I spoke to a tax expert a few months ago. His expertice was taxing in gambling. He told me that poker is taxable in the uk if you are making a living from it but it is a very grey area at the moment. I wasn't even too sure if I should believe him, maybe I just don't want to believe him.

Is it taxable if you stake other people to play?
5699  Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: To be or not to be: Rulings on: January 20, 2009, 01:22:34 AM
if you agree that the ruling was crazy then why did you insist that it was enforced in your hand?

He didn't say he agreed or not.
It's a plain and simple c**ts trick.

he implied he did, and said that it 'needs to be sorted out'.  I only wish in this case the player who was forced to make the call still had his cards and that he'd hit.  To have the chips taken off the guys stack after he's mucked and gone on the break is just horrible.

Call me a cynic but he said he hopes it gets sorted out. Didn't say which way he'd like it sorted out.
Having known what's happened earlier with the Frazer\Priyan debarcle he's goaded Jewsy to do the same. That's a C**ts trick in my book.

jewsy said it before steve acted..... steve confirmed what jewsy had said before moving in.

I don't know Villan but he seems to be a smart chap. He knew what he was doing by asking the questions about calling knowing what happened previously.
