I work in environments where security clearance is needed. Last year working for a certain government dept I endured a 3 hour interview where no rocks were left unturned. The whole process took over 8 months from start to finish. A colleague was put through the same clearance but was dealt with in 5 months. The difference being was i played poker and he did not.
I had to prove that i was not an addicted gambler and only indulged as a hobby.
I managed to prove the latter by means of bank statements and letters from the casinos i frequent. Fortunately the records i produced showed that in the last couple of years i was up by approx 20K and i was granted the clearance.
If i had shown that i was a losing player would they have still cleared me? doubt it very much!

So to answer the original question according to the uk government if you play poker and you lose you're a gambler. If you play and win a certain G Brown could do with borrowing some.

Joking aside I know why they were concerned about the poker but what a bloody game.

This all comes down to integrity. I see no probs in accepting the money. The fact is that she should have be honest and upfront with Pokernews and Tony G.

Hi Red, I'm enjoying reading your diary.
Did you manage to finish the Red Dog book?

Andrew

Yes mate. Enjoyed it. Thanks very much.

Will you be at Bristol next week?

Unfortunately work is getting in the way. Probably wont get to play again until the Broadway fessie.
Good luck if you're there.

Massive pot now involving chip daddy Kimber and Peter C.  Jeff made it 55k in the cutoff.  Peter reraised to 140k total, to which Jeff insta asked "How many you got total?"  Before Peter could answer him Jeff went all in and Peter called in one of those nana second hands.  On their backs:

Jeff Kimber
Peter C

An Ace on the flop compounded the win for Peter and Jeff is left thinking thank @*@* he had so many chips.  It must put Peter on about 700,000 and Jeff on around 400,000.

Pete had that babana when he pulled Aces on me. Should we be suspicious???  Smiley

I'd just like to say that it's official "I'm a DONKEY!!!"

After playing some of the best poker I've ever played I went against all my instincts and ruined 2 days of graft.

Cheers Blonde for the updates and thanks GUKPT for a smashing tournament.

See you next time.

"You look different," observes Neil Channing.

"Is it my hair?" ask I.

"Yeah, on a scale of 1 to a 100 I'd give it 93."

"Oh great," I cheer.

"1 tends to be the best and 100 the worst on my scale though."

Top 100???

Grr  Can anyone name a scale where 100 is the worst?!
