Both are pretty big spew to jam imo
First one if he isn't very active his raising range just has you pretty crushed, second one its extremely optimistic to give him bluffs here imo, especially in a spot where you can get it in vs ace high and have 4 outs.
I pretty much agree with this, but, i do beleive that if villian is tight, but still reasonably active pre flop it's quite close. I'm pretty new to HEM and still trying to learn how best to interpret stats, so was wondering whether they could help to influence our decision here. I was also thinking that by shoving, against a tight opponent, we get him to fold a big percentage of his opening range (55%) including many hands that we would flip with. Obviously, we're in bad shape most of the time when called, but i think that we have a decent amount of fold equity (usually). I gave villian an opening range of 13.1%, of which he would fold 7.2%.

Just having a stab. First hand. I think it comes down to your reads / stats on the raiser, who you say is tight. I think it's close either way. Dont mind the shove, but really dont mind the fold pre either. Second hand. Again, i think this one is quite close, but i like the way that you played this hand. I also think that the next best option is fold pre on this one too. Verdict: Both hands played fine, but not hating folding pre in both hands.

Thanks for that LilDave. Haven't quite got my head around it all just yet, but i will try and learn from it. My idea about 3-betting big as a semi bluff was based on my (almost certainly mistaken) belief that villian rarely ever shows up with a hand that crushes us, but pretty much always folds 8x and 55-77 to a big 3-bet. cheers anyway.

Very poor play IMO. I think you are throwing away a lot of equity by doing this here. You are almost never going to get an over pair to put chips in here. And you have an ace meaning there are 50% less aa combos anyway. You might get them in ahead against a big draw but this is cancelled out by the fact that occasionally you will actually walk into the flopped nut straight, or even the straght flush draw. I

Have you ruled out 3 betting here? Seems to me that you are almost always ahead on the flop here. would 3 betting big here be an option worth considering? or do the stack sizes make this option a no no? I'm just thinking that if you overbet here, villian would have to fold all possible hands that beat you, such as 8x, 55-77, so, in theory the only hands he then jams with are the flush draw, which you are in good shape against. So, you three bet as a semi-bluff. Ie-you get the hands that are beating you to fold, but you get it in against the hands that you flip with such as . Is there any sense in this line of thought, or is my head still in the clouds, having just woken up?

I think you should always consider the possibility of folding when facing two allin's after your c bet. However, your hand is in great shape against most of the likely combinations of both players hands. The fact that one of them is only a short stack makes it an even clearer CALL.

Good luck to all those guys and esp the ones that post on here.
Only players i've ever met in real life are Niall Farrell, Nick Abou Risk and James Keys. All seem like really nice guys, so, big shout for these three, but Best of Luck to ALL of the Brits still in the race to be king of the poker castle.

Just thought i'd post on here. I haven't played for years, after my chess playing mate passed away. Awesome game, total skill. As with the pokerz, there are different levels of ability, but you dont have to be a GM to enjoy a game. I was quite keen on the English opening, but my favourite was the Colle system. As black, i liked playing the Kings Indian and the Scicillian. Brings back many happy memories for me. Cheers for posting the reports.
