I got one 12 months ago
Took the advice to ignore it and heard nothing
If you don't contact them, I'm not sure how they can justify having your details (how did they get them?)
Ignore it and take the spin. What's the worst that can happen? They just prey on people paying them!
Purchased from the DVLA.

£60 for it to just go away is tempting. If I could be sure that my appeal wouldn't be rejected then I would refuse to pay. But £100 and a load of hassle for two or three months isn't floating my boat at the moment.

Anyone ever been given a private parking ticket by ParkingEye? They sent me a charge notice after I broke down at London Gateway (M1) and had to stay there for over the two-hour period. I didn't notice any signs, but apparently I should have purchased a ticket at this point, and now they're charging me £60 (then £100).
Searching Google it seems as though there's no pressure to accept appeals (either by P.E. or POPLA) for mitigating circumstance like mine, so I'm just trying to work out if it's worth the hassle.
Anyone know what I can expect from them? Is it just letters, or are they going to bother me with phone calls and door-knocking? If the appeal is rejected, do I just pay up the £100 if I don't fancy court and then that's it? Not sure how it works.
Really annoying 'cos it was midnight and the place was virtually empty, and I even ended up destroying the car a week later so would be paying a penalty for a vehicle that doesn't even exist. Tilt.

The bottom line is he had sex with a 15 year old.
Isn't that statutory rape?
Jail IMO.
How would you feel if it was your 15 year old daugther?
I always read this 'how would you feel it it was your... etc' type of post on blonde, but I'm not sure that's the best way to approach the legal system when discussing a fair and just sentence. If a judge thought about his own daughter as the victim, then surely that would make for a less objective decision.

What a shame. One of the all time great characters.
I'm currently half way through Sopranos box set at the moment.
RIP T
Well at least it didn't turn out to be a spoiler.

Are some of you insane ?
I have two daughters 13 & 14 .....can you please think what if this was your daughter !
a minor offence is pinching a mars bar from the corner shop.
Don't compare it to anything or anyone else has done
He should of got 5 years
Good post I think you're looking at the wrong context - it's not that they're a minor offence, it's that they are a minor child abuse/sex offence. Obviously all child abuse and sex offences are serious but you still have to differentiate between different types.Agree he should have got at least 5 years I really struggle that you can with this type of crime. Surely there's a big difference between standing in front of kids in their underpants and actually raping and/or torturing a child.

There must be a line though, surely. How would you feel if you found at that your phone lines had always been tapped, or that there were hidden cameras in your house just in case you did something bad? Would be people be okay with being tagged and surveyed 24//7?
