Fremont Street, Vegas? Might be very wrong, but the canopy and pillars look familiar.

Can't say I do this myself, but I googled "DLNA live desktop streaming" and first link is http://alenblog.wordpress.com/2011/04/21/stream-computer-desktop-to-tv-using-dlna-tversity-and-vlc/ which looks reasonably useful, and has further inks.

This is a very tight crop from a local view Rex...

Surely that's got to be Ratcliffe-on-Trent power station?

Thought that too

You'd both be wrong. As it's Ratcliffe-on-Soar Smiley

Wish I was ITT earlier, guessed it from this one. Distinctive paving and slidey door.

I'm having a go at the intermediate fasting thing - I'm doing 5-600 calories on each of Wed/Thu and eating normally (don't count, but probably 2500-3000 I suspect) the other 5 days of the week. Been doing it last 2 weeks. Finding it surprisingly ok, but then I have got a lot of stored fat to live off. Even back on the 4 mornings per week workouts, including Wed and Fri mornings (before breakfast), so 2 days of fasting then a workout is an interesting one. Lost net 3lb from Wed/Wed last week including a fairly big weekend. From Wed to Fri mornings I've lost 7lb both weeks, not surprising I guess. I'm happy with net 3lb/week if I can keep that going. Off to DisneyWorld in 5 weeks for a fortnight, so if I can lose 1stone+ by then I'll be happy. Sure I'll put it all back on - we're on a "free" dining plan, and I'm not one to waste an opportunity like that Smiley.

6 seconds to boot up?  My current pc takes about 5 mins before I can use it!

It's pretty stunning, I have to say. App startups are much improved as well. I do try and keep it clean-ish though - check through startup stuff reasonably regularly.

W7 helps - it's way faster to start than Vista ever was, even without the SSD.

Overclocking the I7 to 4.8GHz probably helps too Smiley. Could get more out of it, tbh, it still only runs <50C even at full chat.

I've got a 60Gb SSD with W7 Ultimate plus a few essential apps installed. Works rather well. Would have got bigger, but when I bought that last year it was the only size that made economical sense for me.

Had to pull a few tricks to get Windows not to stick all its crap on there (swap file, temp files, etc), and you can't move some things (installers and a few other things), but I've still got room on it.

Boots up in about 6 seconds, and runs like a dream, frankly. 128Gb should be ample. Beware read/write speeds though - there are several classes of memory chip used on these things, and some are significantly slower than others, especially for writing. Check the specs.

Colin Salmon could be popular. Probably not much in the Latin though

I'm looking forward to seeing who these people are partnered with.

Anton has had some rotters since the faux-pas with Laila Rouass. Maybe he gets Jerry Hall or Lisa Riley? Would like to see Robin get a good, young person. Obvious choice for me would be Kimberley, as he has worked on musicals for years and she has been in Shrek(?) on the West End for a while.

Anton nailed on for Lisa Riley, surely. Comedy factor of him throwing a fat lass around (again) will swing that.

It's a great picture. Love how the web shows up.

A proper macro lens is a wondrous thing. I have a 90mm Tamron that I haven't used enough yet, but at it's extreme (90mm, F2.8, 29cm object distance) the depth of field calculates out at 0.8mm!

If you're on a narrowboat, it's right at the very back........

Not sure 'Bridge' is quite the right word for the drivers position on a narrowboat???

A definition from somewhere on the interweb - 'The elevated, enclosed platform on a ship from which the captain and officers direct operations.'

You are not telling me that from this picture you can't see Rex is obv the Captain of this ship. I bet the kids and wife never got to wear that hat and take a turn at the rudder. Bet no one gets to touch the BBQ in his house either Smiley

As a veteran of a few canal boating holidays with the family I can say with some certainty that everyone wants to 'drive', unless it's raining.

The kids were a bit young to drive on their own, but they had a go under supervision. The wife is generally a nervous driver in any vehicle (especially with me offering constructive criticism, weird, no idea why), so wasn't fussed, and positively refused to drive in the locks - so her and the kids worked every one of the 96, bar a couple in the middle when my parents came for a visit and my Dad drove a couple.

Great fun though - definitely going to do it again. Even the kids enjoyed it, and it didn't involve a computer, so that's rare.

If you're on a narrowboat, it's right at the very back. And in a not so subtle link, I've just come back from a week on a narrowboat.

Saw quite a few of these:

Went through 96 of these

And I have to say, despite the subject being an ugly mofo, I really like the quality of this last shot. Which was taken by my 9 year old son. Good composition, focus, nice foreground and background interest, etc, seems to work.

Oh by god yes, I'd never stay there, it's just in the middle of a wasteland at the moment - I was just recommending the restaurant!
