I have a friend who grinds high stakes SnGo on Stars who just got his degree this year. ..

He did 'ok' in his degree and ended up with a 2:1 and while I don't want to say he cruised through his last year, I am 99% certain he would admit he didn't do as much as he could have done and the major factor contributing towards that was poker. Obviously I am in not much of a position to judge what grade he could have earned had he focused a little more on his degree instead of splitting it with poker but I am sure he could have at least made a 1:2 if not better

what is a 1:2?

degree grades are:

1st
2:1
2:2
3rd
fail

Yeh I'd fold this here. Get it in with fold equity like paul said. I'd be much happier jamming 7bigs the next hand bvb with Q2 than jamming kj here.

+1

vs an average reg who will call somewhat correctly BVB, what is the maximum number of bigs you guys will jam with ATC (assuming antes)? I know this question can easily be answered with "it depends"...

Would you say that the Sklansky/Chubukov hand charts optimum (haven't looked at these for years, I remember them being a bit of a mess)? Are the Nash charts best? Nash has us pushing J3ss with 10.5bb but folding with 11. In-play I jam larger stacks for sure...

Doubt this villain is thinking about this after the >4x open, but in general I 3b less to give him more perceived fold equity (and make my 3b/folds cheaper).

Don't know villain but vs this open size I call and ch/jam flop then berate myself after for not jamming pre when it comes AKQ and he checks back then folds 88 to our turn bet.
455  Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: Bubble deals! on: July 08, 2011, 12:09:57 AM
I very very rarely will do any bubble deals. I also find that sometimes a situation arises that people then have it in for you after refusing a deal, and can often result in +EV spots for yourself.

459  Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: Pet peeves with dealing procedures/habits on: September 26, 2010, 04:59:57 PM
Oh, stacking the pot is another one too. The pot should be a mess in the middle of the table and definitely not stacked. This can be even worse in cash games when you have a dealer who has no ma skills and has to stack it so they can count it and work out the rake. Maths should be a test when applying for the job!

Omg so annoying. I mean, the job is pretty easy, and I found keeping myself occupied by keeping track of the pot, and working out what a "pot" bet+raise might be the only form of stimulation to the brain.

Also whoever said stacking the pot up neatly before pushing it to the winner £$*£&$)Q

not had chance to read the op but always wanting to help, pls check the stroke association website.

"The symptoms of stroke or Transient ischaemic attack (TIA) include:

    * sudden weakness or numbness of the face, arm or leg on one side of the body
    * sudden loss or blurring of vision
    * sudden difficulty speaking or understanding spoken language.

A suspected stroke should always be treated as a medical emergency, as outlined in our FAST campaign. If you or anyone you know is experiencing any of the symptoms of stroke call 999."

I didn't see results before I was going to write this:

hand 1 call, win a (almost certain) flip, and get stack to win comp

2: man you've got to snap that off so fast. You are absolutely massive against his range which will include any ace, 2 picutres, pairs etc etc Passing this spot to try to ladder to 2nd will cost you so many shots at 1st place
