Like you we booked PE for next May 27 th to 16 th June to vegas for £540 each plus 100 k miles and an upgrade
If we had bought them at full price they would have been £3300

Got a pretty sweet deal on Vegas for later this year, but it did take a lot of advance planning....

My daughter turns 21 in December, and since she was little we've talked of going to Vegas for her birthday.

About 18 months ago I signed up for the reward+ credit card which gives a pretty hefty points bonus for a certain spend in the first year, plus a companion/upgrade voucher. Also signed up to virgin red which effectively gives double points (at least) for purchases made through there on things you might be buying anyway (eg Just Eat).

When the day came round that the flights for our dates were released I had enough points to pay for a PE ticket for myself, and the companion voucher to use for Hannah's flight. We just had to pay taxes (which were pretty eye watering at £500 and change each).

Hotel is completely gratis - not been to Vegas for around five years but not paid for a room on my last few trips thanks to MGM Rewards (previously MLife). I'm not a high stakes gambler but a couple of hundred a day in the slots at MGM properties will give you plenty of comp room offers (usually 4 nights) - just need to log into your account to see what's available.

Whilst I'm here, any recommendations for fun nightspots where a 21 year old and a 48 year old will be equally comfortable would be happily received Smiley

Almost any cirque de soleil show is a good night out
A reasonably priced dinner at battistas ihole in the wall -Italian food - at the back of Ballys /flamingo

I just renewed the virgin fee card £160 per annum gets you 15 k miles spend £3 k in 3months get another 15 k
30 k airmiles in a sale is about £400 so it seems like a good deal
Then cancel it again in 11.5 months before the next £160 fee

We also were thinking this year would be our last year
But l3 Saturdays ago we looked on virgin and using 107 k points and a £20 k spend on the virgin credit card upgrade
We got two PE seats for $540 each
Such a good price we couldn’t resist
Our answer to massively rinsing strip costs is simply southpoint or downtown
Southpoint recently voted best locals casino

but I just enjoy playing live poker, riffling chips, “snapping” the corners of the cards, tossing discards in the muck in a cool fashion & generally chilling with like-minded folk.

I think this is why I still make the occasional buy in 😂😂😂

Also for the characters you meet at the table either in vegas or Luton

Southpoint has a 2 pm 08 tournament and cash or it did when we were there
Plus 2/3 nice restaurants

Maybe it'll be for the best, as it was even starting to irk me a little with all the squeezing we're seeing as customers at present Smiley

Exactly what I thought mark
I/we’ve been going since 2004 and noticed how much more expensive it is
If we go next year it may be our last one
By staying off strip our money goes further
Downtown now seems like a zoo - more so than ever
Vegas’s attitude to tourists is changing to giving “ bang for our buck “ to one of rinse us
