Can anyone help with a problem I have with PokerTracker?

I have used PT3 since the start of this year when I purchased a new pc (Windows Vista 64bit) with success.

Each time I load PT I have to restart the PostgreSQL Server manually (not sure why but PT doesn't work without it)

Since a few weeks ago, each time I try this I get the following message:

"Windows could not start the PostgreSQL server 8.3 service on Local Computer.
Error 1053: the service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion"

I have tried upgrading to PostgreSQL Server 8.4 but get the same message
I have also upgraded to build 5.2 of PT which makes no difference

I have also tried google searches but find myself quickly out of my depth of computer knowledge.

any help would be much appreciated as I want to get PT up and running again before I start my SAS trial.

ran last 200 hands at VP$IP at 17 and PFR at 13 - seems to work but I agree I need more hands.
Was thinking 50,000 would be enought to determine whether or not I am winning.

maybe, but I need help with the PT stats before I take a view on that.

always 10 handed and around 14,000 hands so far

Some of my own thoughts:

It may be the sample size (in which case I'm in trouble as I have played more at 10/20)

Playing too many tables (I find 6 works best at 10/20 but play no more than 4 at 25/50)

Maybe I gamble to much at 10/20 due to the lower stakes?

Any other views or comments on the above would be welcome.
I am thinking about the SAS scheme but want to make sure I am ready for it before starting. I also want to play at a level that suits me for the 9000 hands.

PT stats for both levels are as follows:

10/20
VP$IP = 22.72
PFR = 11.97

25/50
VP$IP = 21.70
PFR = 13.06

I left them a bit but they seemed insulted.

Ask for it back.

I would but it was over 3 years ago. Wink

[ ] APAT Scotland sounds like it was a really good weekend

'Twas a cracking weekend, despite some of the dealers, the loud-mouthed idiots, the buffet. The fact it was in Scotland made up for it all..

The first tournament I ever won in Vegas they were pushing me for a 10-15% tip!

Didn't they recognise my Scottish accent?
lol
I remember a few heavy hints about tipping in vegas, this being after they've already taken 30% from the prize pool

I left them a bit but they seemed insulted.
Can't remember what the rake was on that occasion but it was heavy.

In what can only be described as 'possible-update-killingness', Darren Shallis is out in 10th place.

He pushed for 103k with and found Dipak Makawana reraise to 207k behind in the small blind. Hassan Irfan STOOD UP because he had A BIG DECISION, before meekly folding later saying he had Jacks.

Dipak Makawana showed

three diamonds

Newportlad just pipped at the final hurdle.

Chip counts and final table photos to come shortly.

Why will nobody listen to me - never play AJ.     aarrgghhhh
