sorry just got in from work!

Yes there is a dress code! No sportswear, ripped jeans, hats. Preferred dress would be smart/ smart casual. It seems to be getting more lax unfortunately. It states that to avoid any chance of dissappointment please avoid wearing jeans and trainers. Although they seem to be quite flexible on this!

No card game friday or saturday though. Sunday is OK 20 NLHE usually about 60-70 runners. Hope to see you there, please introduce yourself, I am the muppet in a tux!

No problem entering your mates.

To avoid any chance of disappointment best to book for restaurant although not normally neccessary.

All the best
Rich

Contrary to beliefs my name is from a strange accident on Ultimate bet. I had been playing $2/$4 nl for about an hour and brought my stack up from $300 to roughly $1900. I picked up A 2 on the big blind no raise before flop. Flop came over 3 5 A i checked and the next guy raised $400 for some reason. I actually honestly accidentally called as i went to press fold i dropped my fag on my lap and must have moved the mouse. He asked me what my kicker was as the next card came over 4 (lol). I typed in deuce is kicker as he went all in (happy christmas) As he asked me what my kicker was i didn't take him for 6 7 so I called . Turned over A Q? river Q lol
I took $1090 off him all due to me dropping a ciggie on my di(c)k. And 9 is my lucky number!!

Its only friendly banter, I have enjoyed reading different threads and understand the nature of your forum. I appreciate a forum that puts across many sides of a spectrum of issues. Its about time you came down TK when you are free....2007 lol. You should all be pleased there is a little rivalry as only the poker players benefit! (we don't get paid anymore lol)

I completely agree, but sometimes they are expected to know some answers that maybe a little technical. After reading your post I just telephoned the casino posing as a customer. All the basic information was given to me correctly as read off a card. Including Festival dates and competitions in September. When I asked whether we did top ups she paused and guessed (I think) at Yes. Your point has been duly noted and I may have a little meeting with them on the Q T to go through some finer points.

Thank You

Please come down and join and I will show you round

Regarding casino's, in a satellite competition at our club, on the wall and on the entry table, we state that you are playing for a seat only, which is non transferable and non refundable. If for any reason you may not be able to make it please think twice before entry. If for ANY reason you are not in the building at the start of the competition, then you will forfeit your seat and all monies.

Maybe the internet qualifiers have some sort of small print?

" I have researched the position with regard to entry into poker competitions being recieved from players not on the premises as promised. There is nothing in the guidelines to prevent such entries being accepted, in fact some London casinos are now accepting e mail registrations, although I don't altogether advise this, it has room for errors.

All I am saying is the law states we can accept entries and each cash desk is set up for pre bookings (ours being an endex system) So I cannot see the problem, they should have let you in IMO. (I cannot comment on Grosvenors policy as I do not work in one) I for one would be disappointed if cash desk was turning away potential players.

I have in my possession a letter from the gaming board regarding this.

I shall quote a paragraph.....

" I have researched the position with regard to entry into poker competitions being recieved from players not on the premises as promised. There is nothing in the guidelines to prevent such entries being accepted, in fact some London casinos are now accepting e mail registrations, although I don't altogether advise this, it has room for errors. The latest version of Guideline 3 states that players must be present 'when the competiton commences' and are not allowed to enter or take part after that. Your card room supervisors must ensure that any cash for entries recieved from would be players who do not make the commencement of the competition; is returned to them against signature of receipt"

As a card room manager, adopting this policy is a logistical nightmare. As people turning up 2 mins late to sit down will give a number of excuses to where they were, in the casino at time of off i.e. toilet, didn't hear the tannoy etc. So each individual will have to have timechecks as when they entered the building via reception's computer. By the time we have done this his chips are in play!!! So we do not encourage this policy although it has been used. Regarding being 2 mins late, successful running of a card room requires discretion over certain situations. Although saying this it is very annoying when people turn up 2 mins late and say "go on, put us in, no-one will know" HELLO!!! So I am going to risk my job, and the casino's license by sneeking an extra player in. It just takes an unrelated incedent or an observant freebie merchant to notice these things, and I am screwed... SO ME THINKS NOT!!!

can you sort out discounts at the lapdaning in fact speak to manager and get the lapdancers in as valets for the night now that would make a flight down and a couple of night in a hotel worth it

As it happens, I do know a few employees there. Our valets are pretty hot aswell...85%

The 50 super satellite is rebuys and a top up  e.g. if it makes 7600 then the prize is 7 x 1000 seats and the 8th man gets the 600
2607  Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: Cash Game Etiquette on: August 08, 2005, 01:55:36 PM
In our club etiquette at the cash game requires the player to give at least 3 hands notice of leaving.
The session fees are a good excuse to leave, this is why we announce last 3 hands before sessions. So that people have an opportunity to announce themselves. In theory though this is all codswallop I have seen it done twice, and nobody payed any attention to the guys because they were losing and were only leaving the game because the  one guy had already dug up 4 times out of his loft extension money....!
