Sorry Bongo, I am at a loss?Huh??
What has the Big Blind got to do with the price of fish?
If it was 350 for him/her to call then the minimum raise is 350. Although there are some circumstances where this is not the case.
I understood the first post of Longy but it seems a simple situation has been blown up. Undecided
It was 350 to call and he announced raise and put 550 in the pot (under raise of 200) as he announced raise then the 200 must be made up to the minimum raise of 350. Ruling was correct and another 150 was added....whats the problem? Roll Eyes

The other bad call in my opinion is, although it was an under raise, action had passed 2 players before this was noticed. Therefore your under raise has made 2 people act. So this must stand!

How it works in my cardroom is, if the raise is less than half the original bet, then they will be returned the bet and it will be deemed a call. If the  raise is over half the original bet, but less than a minimum raise, then they have 2 options.
1st Option is to make the raise up to the minimum raise.
2nd Option is to forfiet the under raise to the pot and deem it as a call.

Open to debate....

As it happens, I am proud to say I would be happy to send any of my regular dealers, they all know poker!

BTW Big Dave came 1200th in the WSOP so a big up to him! Which could leave me to a completely different thread. He qualified online with Betfair was flown out for day 1C had a ten hour flight and landed at 5am had to play at 11am, played for 15 hours then had to get up early(jet lagged) and played for another 8 hours before getting outdrawn with his trip A's by runner runner for geezer to hit flush. Online Qualifiers had to go on scheduled flights at stupid times, and I am sure jet lag does take its toll. But what would have happened if his flight was delayed??

Dani...........A Big Hug and Kiss from Me Kiss

As for sitting in one room together, I have no problems in doing this and I think Good Ole Yogi maybe in the process of arranging it!!

Just wondered who Junction 10 would be sending... I suggest Zak as he knows a thing or two about poker!!

 Shocked
2618  Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: Strange Circumstances of a dealer error on: July 29, 2005, 10:27:05 AM

2619  Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: Birmingham's misc' Casinos ? on: July 29, 2005, 10:25:27 AM
Thanks for promoting me guys, I'll buy you a drink lol!!

Regarding the Shaftesbury

I don't know which thread to put this on so heres as good a place as any. Without getting personal Dani. How would you know you were only there 2 weeks and if memory serves me well i requested you were taken out of the card room because you were crap!!!

Now it gets interesting because your pissed at me and your gonna do anything you can to mess me up. Fair play sir our little private club will take on the uk's largest plc casino that has sponsorship. The comments I have heard from your ex pun ters gives me hope and confirms my decision to get you out the card room!

Did I read right..... you are taking credit for junction 10's success?Huh? Stay there for another year will ya

Look forward to doing battle

Re: the exposed 6
 Reply #14 on: May 10, 2005, 08:27:39 pm

Just as a small aside, while at the new broadway casino in sunny brum the dealer dealt the flop, i went allin (trip 6's) a good pal of mine called (flush draw) and a.n. other called (dunno).
He then dealt another 2 cards face up then burnt 1 then dealt another 2!!!!
Amid plenty of cries (he did it very quickly) to no avail.
Basically i was given the hand and the cards mucked (again VERY quickly) by the dealer, he said even though he dealt too many the burn cards were correct and so the hand was fine.
We all protested (even me!! i know, i know) this was not so, my pal actually won the hand with a flush but because he'd scooped the cards the hand was deemed over by the cardroom manager.
Now, the point of all this is that this cost my friend a 20 buyin thru the fault of an inept dealer (he was inept at Walsall before leaving!!!) but...................
The cardroom manager refunded my pals 20!!!!!!!!!
Waddya think of that? ?
Is this the way to go?
Should the casino pay for their own mistakes?
Ian

BTW the casino manager heard we had a problem and approached us a little later and gave us complimentary meals for us and partners!!
How cool is that!!

Well obviously it's not ever gonna happen again, i just think the combo of a new casino opening trying to keep and attract custom and an (i think) inexperienced cardroom manager created a fairly unique situation.
I agree with you Tikay that you CANNOT go down the road of paying back possible prize money etc for all the reasons you say and more.
I see no reason though for a casino not to offer some sort of token gesture (a round of drinks, a meal, diamond encrusted rolex etc.) for a genuine dealer error that results in a major injustice for some poor soul.
It's not like they don't make money out of that person in the first place and could ensure future business.
I gotta say the free meals were totally unexpected and a most welcome and refreshing attitude from a casino, i'll certainly be going back to play their comps and hopefully they will build up their attendances to a good level.
Be interesting to hear from the blackpool grosvenor boys on this, is there a casino policy maybe?
Ian

Right........ where do I start..........

Firstly the dealer in question had just started there and he was "ALLEGIDLY" a card room supervisor at Junction 10 and had got years of experience.....although I never employed him!!

Second BOY WHAT A HUGE COCK UP!!! I understand that dealers make errors but this took the biscuit. This was the most Bizarre error that I have ever seen...or not as i had to be told by everyone what had happened as it was over within seconds, before I got to the table.

As far as I am aware this was the cicumstance...

Pre flop raises (usual)
burnt card 3 up round of betting (usual) large pot including an all in.
This is where it gets completely mystifying. For some reason the dealer now burns and turns over 2 exposed cards... and not stopping there...burnt another and turned another amidst cries from everyone gave the pot to someone then destroyed the flop all in one action... Active players even still had chips!!!!

Questioned, the dealer said his mind wasn't on the game.......no shit!! Even whilst I went over to sort the situation out the dealer was nonchenantly shuffling up for the next hand..me don't thinks.... he was last seen dealing on American Roulette 1.

Now I have been in cardrooms for 18 years ran comps for 15 years managed card rooms for 5 years (maybe I am inexperienced but my cardrooms are run in the interest of the game and in the interest of fairness) I take Tk's point that it is dodgy ground doing something like this in terms of precidents and to be honest I totally agree. I was actually toying with the idea of underhanded sabotage from a PLC but dismissed this as even too far fetched for me to believe. Needless to say the only cards he deals now is on blackjack and he is not the brightest bulb in the pack there!!

What am i to do? This involved 2 new customers that had come down to experience " The Broadway Experience" What a start!!!!

I am very proud of the standard of dealing at the Broadway they are now all a credit to the club.

I hold my hands up to the extent it was my fault no one was watching him as I foolishly believed he was a top jolly dealer.

I Apologise, but could people post and tell me what they would have done in the very same situation. Even though I don't think it will happen again...lightening cannot strike twice in the same place.....can it?

Im a member of the Birmingham Uni Poker Society, and we regularly used to voyage to the old china palace 10 rebuys on a wednesday.. The society is already pretty big considering its only been running for one year. Im pretty friendly with the main guys on the committee and they really think that its going to take off next year.... perhaps some sort of arrangement could be sorted between the casino and the society in terms of a regular events

I know for a fact that there is plans in place for a big tournament (in terms of no's, similar to the Oxford Cup) towards the end of the year.

id be more than happy to pass some contact details to you dik

Ry

Please do although something on the scale of the Oxford cup maybe a little too large for us....unless we do a number of day 1's

BTW you mention a festival in september and detail?
I can't seem to find any info on it,
Ian

Festival details are on my own basic website www.thebroadwaycasino.com Brochures to be printed this week.

You've got your ante structure spot on. I for one look forward to the introduction of 50/100 freezeouts...NICE ONE...

Will.
