The structure is indeed the same for the deep stacks and there's a very formulaic way of playing them imo. Push for a stack early and then stay aggressive if you get it.
Otherwise, just hold on to enough chips to be able to play the double-up game when the blinds hit 800-1600. At this stage all ins for up to 30000 with A8 UTG and that kind of garbage are commonplace.
The midday at Caesars is your best bet for now I reckon.

PS- Both Ralph and I got a warning in the Venetian yesterday. Me for speech play, and him for trying to steal back his blinds.

Go figure!

Aah, a Vegas trip isn't complete without being warned about your speech play at The Venetian. Was it Kim that gave you the warning? She's given up warning me now.

Can't be arsed to start my own Vegas diary,so i'll add a bit to Tom's. Arrived about 3 hours ago. It's not gone well so far! Flight delayed 3 hours, just one of them things, can't do anythihg about it,so grab some breakfast and a couple of pints. Had a seat near the door on the plane so i was the first person through immigration, result. Wait 10 minutes for my luggage and jump in a cab,he tells me they have closed the road out of the airport and we have to go this way. $22 to the MGM!! The hotel is at the end of the runway ffs. Shafted me thinks. No queue at check in,a very nice lady finds me my room, credit card declined! fml. I tell her it's the only one i have and she tries again,no joy. I phone my bank from the desk on my mobile (££££) the boss of 02 is probably ordering his new car as we speak. The guy from the bank tells me the card has been blocked by the fraud team and i need to phone them in the morning.Jeez. I get a bit fuuny with him and say if my phone calls are not paid i will be closing my account. So i have to pay cash for the room.
I'm in a celebrity spa suite which is lovely, cracking view overlooking NYNY,Monte Carlo. Can't decide what to do tonight, play a bit of cash, which will almost certainly result in more financial loss,or find a tourney. I think there's an 11pm at Caesers.

My Debit card was also frozen last week. It seems the fraud teams have witnessed a lot of problems with online gambling sites recently, so they froze my card after I deposited $200 into one of them. It only took three calls to get the card unlocked and another two to get my online banking thing working again.
They also froze the card while I was in Vegas in June after an 'unusually large amount' was taken by Caesar's Palace. Yep, that would be the room payment up front, the usual way of doing it. It only took 24 hours to get it working again FFS. These boys have a job to do but they really are a pain in the arse.

FFS, a joke. Read a story earlier about a kid who'd moved to Middlesbrough(!), got attacked by a gang who carved their initials on his chest. Nothing is too heavy a punishment for these idiots imo.
As long as they didn't get the red jumper sported at Thanet, phew...

Then, with so many chips I did not know what to do with them, I made a, for me, rare "odds call" against the currently luckless Chompy & hit. He'd made it 700 (100-200), picked up a single caller, & I had 200 invested already in the BB, so called the extra 500 with A-8 of clubs. It came raggy-taggy-tag, 2 clubs, & I bet out, the Pot, making about 4,200 in the middle. Chompy gave it a lengthy dwell, then shoved, & I have him on an overpair now. His Shove was 5k+, so I thought I was getting aboot 2/1, & thought that was, marginally, about the correct price to call. A bad play in some ways, as I had plenty of chips, but anyway, I called & hit. I felt for him, he's on a shocking run right now, but we all hit these lean patches.

The only bad call here is the pre flop one.

In Luton, we call that "The Myland-Webber Gambit".

"Er, Niall, can we have a ruling here please."
Good luck to Blonde legend Tom Myland on the Kentish isle this afternoon. And to Handsome Paul, who's carrying my 10% investmentaments.

when do you want picking up from the airport

Noooooooooo! Ish.

It's 10.00am here, Chili just called, she's at the Airport, off to the IPO in Dublin. Everyone's off to play Poker.......don't tempt me. Anyway, I have things to do, places to go, people to see, & Angell to feed. And my Bankroll is not exactly full to the brim. Discipline, discipline......

Get out there, Vegas above everything imo, especially this time of year.
Too much work, not enough play, make Tikay limp with ace-rag sooted UTG.
