Hi all. Just trying to recover from a knackering weekend. Was worth it all in the end!

Just want to say it was a brilliant final table, excellent standard of play and a real nice bunch of people to play against. And thanks to Lee for buying me dinner when I was skint and sorry for knocking you out pal.

Played the £20 sat at DTD last night. plodded along quite nicely without a rebuy and had a reasonable stack  after the break.  Picked up A10 in poor position and flat called. two other limpers and we see a flop.  . player one bets 1000 player 2 calls and i raise it up 4000. don't want any draws in there. player one passes player two calls. turn was a blank, player 2 checks so i push all in. Player 2 thinks long and announces he's already in the pot so what the hell. calls and turns over  . you guessed river was  . oh well thats the game. BUT...... decided wasn't my night for cash game and went home early.... to find partner collapsed in bathroom..... quick 999, ambulance there in eight mins and straight to hosp and into resus. She's made a good recovery and all looks good,,, but if the poker gods weren't looking over me!

I am sorry to keep going on about this but i am starting to really not enjoy my nights down there - its stuffy and makes your clothes stink.  Even the smokers want smoking banned at the table so whats the delay all about?? - get it stopped.

Got to agree with Junior. Even as a smoker I find the card room at notts over top. I for one would be quite happy if they banned smoking! (or got the air con to work properly!)

you just know you should have stayed in bed....... Walsall 300 freeze-out. Having sat through the super sat in the afternoon getting cards that had gaps big enough to drive through the main event started off the same. Managed to hold on for three hours with just one winning hand to find myself in BB with -10d. Best hand i've seen so far.
Player to my left rises 500 and everyone folds round to me. Call the 500 to see the flop. flop 2-4-10 with 2 diamonds. Not bad- got top pair with good kicker plus diamond flush draw. Matey looks at my stack ( or lack of it) and bets 1400 to put me all-in. O h well now or never... Call his bet and turn over cards. Matey turns over K J off suit. Wow i'm massive favourite he needs a jack or Q-9 / Q- A with no diamonds Turn Q River A with ..... no diamonds .... Arrrghh!!!!
Oh well alwaysthe 500 tomorrow ( at least i won a seat for that in the super sat)
