As a soccer mad tom boy when I was little trying to play footie with anyone in the school yard that would let me join in and failing to be the successor to Georgie Best, whenever we went on our holidays kids would ask me where I came from and when I said Manchester their eyes lit up & first words that always came out from their little mouths was Bobby Charlton.

R.I.P Sir Bobby Charlton. There will never be another quite like you.

I remember back in the day when we did the 12 Tikays at Sky Newcastle and Teeks *seemed* a little bit older than myself but now he's hardly aged at all meanwhile I'm feeling *stuff* aching and I've gotten shorter. Gravity apparently is worse than aging!

Someone on here said that from my posts they thought I was a poker mad teenage VPIP monster player and when they met me in the flesh they were umm quite shocked by a fruit cider drinking middle aged person. I loved that. Just goes to show huh!

As one who doesn't really travel anymore I'm looking forward to it also.

I remember seeing a Bond Bug in about 1970 and I was absolutely fascinated by it. I waited ages for someone to come and drive it away but it didn't happen.

One of the local older boys had one - his dad was quite well off and one of the older lads I knew to chat to said, I dunno the things people do to try to grab attention. I struggled not to laugh, he had a Lambretta with about 44 wing mirrors on it.

Joni Mitchell will be 80 on November 7th. After suffering a brain aneurysm rupture in 2015 I can say hand on heart I would not have been surprised if an announcement saying the worst was on the cards.

It didn't come and after undergoing physical therapy and learning to walk again on July 24th 2022 with the support of many friends she played a set including a solo on the guitar at the legendary Newport Folk festival in Rhode Island.

I confess to not loving 100% of her music but oh my gosh if you read her Wiki you will see what a legend she is.

She is incredibly loved and respected by so many and Brandi Carlisle especially has been with her through it all, much respect to everyone.

Here she is singing Summertime and then Circle Game with some of her friends at the 2023 Gershwin Prize concert on March 1st where she was awarded the 2023 Gershwin Prize for her lifetime contributions to popular music.
