Anyone explain how Pickford is so highly rated? I'm trying to process how he's no.1.
I recall so many mistakes last season leading to goals and otherwise. Generally he looks too excitable and in no way has a calming presence over his backline.
Totally agree, he seems to pull off a lot of dramatic saves which the media/fans obviously love, but not as solid as Butland for me

There's also a decent season predictor pool.
Predict the winner of various leagues and cups from England and the big leagues in Europe.
If 10 people put their i-pools username here I'll set up a private £2 blondepoker pool and I'll add £50 to the winner.
If you haven't got an account, norw is the perfect time to open one!
Oi oi Just wondered whether the camel was adding the money to my ipools account or bank account :-)

is Zaha fit after his shoeing at the hands of the Terriers yesterday and does your opinion change if he isn't? the stats with or without him are very striking (which they would be, fine player) Saw some pretty strong 'opinions' about Huddersfield's tactics on how to deal with Zaha on a friends social media yesterday. He is indeed a fine player and hopefully fit enough to give Mr Southgate some cause for thought when deciding on his final 23. I generally go with the 'Back Palace when Zaha/Sakho both start and leave alone when they don't' so maybe just pause on this bet till we see how the Zaha situation plays out in the next couple of days? 3 Huddersfield players were booked yesterday for fouls on Zaha. First game of the season they kicked him off the park but got away with it, resulted in him missing 6 matches through injury. Yesterday he eventually had to go off injured due to the treatment dished out. Hopefully he wil, be fit for the Liverpool match but without him would be a definite no bet.

He's no longer eligible for England Hutch. Has played in competitive internationals for Ivory Coast so an option lost.
Really? I wasn't aware of that. That is a real shame. From what I have heard he wanted to play for England but Southgate didn’t really convince him that he would be in his long term plans. As is the English way there are many more safer picks than Zaha, we don’t really for for flair players in our national team.

Coutinho and Mahrez boast almost identical Premier League records over a 150 game sample
So, why is one worth £142m and the other only £50m?
Coutinho is 25
Mahrez is 26
we know one fee is inflated by Neymar, middle east money blowing the top off the transfer market etc
but the player who hasn't moved yet has been a PL player of the year, won the title and is back to his best form (after a down year last year)
£50m is too cheap,yes?
Because one plays (played for) Liverpool and one plays for Leicester. If you play for one of the top 6 sides you are perceived to be much more valuable in most instances.

Hi blondes. Stoke are away at Chelsea this weekend, and go into the game with a few injury concerns at the back; Shawcross, Martins-Indi & Pieters all "doubtful", the young lad Tom Edwards picked up a knock and Zouma isn't eligible to play against his parent club. Alongside these issues our defence has been pretty shocking all season/ year, conceding the most goals out of any PL team all campaign. We've only played 2 of the "big" teams away from home this season and have been smashed in both of these, 7-2 away at Man city and 5-1 away at spurs. Chuck this in with a 4-0 loss when we played Chelsea at home and it points you in the direction of a spanking for our lads this weekend. I'm not sure the best way to approach this, whether it be from a total Chelsea goals standpoint or handicap market. I've linked the oddchecker for the handicap results below. I really like the 4/1 offered on Chelsea -3 with Betfair. I'd recommend £20 if Fred could get on at this price. I would help but can't access Betfair from overseas. https://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/premier-league/chelsea-v-stoke/handicapsJust to add to this, Glen Johnson is also is also unavailable. great spot seconded well done. Palace likely to rest a few players tomorrow with half an eye on Southampton later in week? That's the noises I've heard but you might know differently. Think a full strength Palace could be decent value at 12s vs us.... We often do well when the pressure is off at home against a much superior team. But yep we are probably resting a few. Even if we aren't I just look at City and think they'll demolish us, so I'm happy to leave alone. I worry about Palace. We play the 4-4-2 which some of you may have saw completely negate Loftus Cheek and imo frustrate Zaha for large swathes of the Arsenal game. If Hodgson persists with it I see us never really comfortably winning any "winnable" game and he's only likely to buy in January for the 4-4-2 system and that may not work. Grrr. I think most Palace fans want the 4-5-1 but they have to respect the job Hodgson as done as a whole, so a weird quandary. Without desperately lucky results against Watford and Stoke our season would look a lot different. However if he keeps us up then I don't mind but it's frustrating as hell to watch us currently. I’m not sure what more you expect than 1 defeat in 10 premier matches, for a bottom half team that is an amazing run and totally justifies the formation being played. Hodgson gets it spot on in every game imo and if he doesn’t think Loftus Cheek is good enough to play central mid than I bow to his opinion.

Felt like a win.
Not for me it didn’t! I can’t believe I left the ground disappointed that we only drew with Man City. An outstanding performance from palace, especially as 4 of the starting x1 hadn’t played for over a month. And without Sakho, Loftus cheek and McArthur, easily 3 of our best players. City pace on the counter is so quick, luckily we didn’t give them many opportunities to do it. The way to get something out of city is definatly the way we played against them and not the way Newcastle played.

Shakes head. Already deleted two posts before pushing send lol. Ps it's Gray, ran that back four ragged when he came on.
What would you shake your head at? Clearly not a penalty and pretty sure most observers/neutrals would agree. Baffling decision from the ref....the same ref who sent off Walker, for what I can only assume was breathing, vs Everton earlier in the season. And well done to Gray/Grey, he ran our 2nd string defence ragged. Maybe if he keeps up this level of performance he can sit on Liverpool's bench in a couple of years. As a neutral to me it was never a pen. Vardy's probably was just about, but Gray's definitely wasn't imo

Wilfred Ndidi. • Most tackles in PL • 73 • Most tackles per90 in PL • 4.3 • Responsible for 25.3% of total Leicester tackles A 20-year-old establishing himself as one of the best ball-winners in Europe, let alone England. Next stop: World Cup. 🌍 Click to see full-size image. |
Tighty You appear to have a bit of a man crush on Ndidi I fear for us tomorrow, Leicester were able to rotate their team in the week, while we have to keep going with our strongest X1 in every match given our position. Milivojevic is suspended and 3 games in a week is too much for Cabaye (who has been carrying a bit of an injury) so we will struggle in the middle of the park. Joel Ward, Sakho and Fosu-Mensah are all injured so it is likely that Martin Kelly will play right back, so Gray/Mahrez will have a field day. Townsend also went off injured the other night. it wouldn't surprise me if Leicester won this one 3 or 4 nil.

Bayern or Juventus, prefer Bayern though just for a different country, we play the first leg away but my lad will have the click button whatever for the flights. To beat city... Play the ball straight down the middle of the park when Stones and Ottemendi are absent. Captain Kompany has lost his pace and Mangala although very Physical and a man mountain, I'm not sure he has the brains to be a center back. No footy this weekend, so desperate to take my lad to a derby game but not sure if the Swamp is the right place for his first derby. Doing Swansea, day of his birthday but staying over, City sold out their allocation. Doing Newcastle on the 27th which leaves me two more premiership stadiums to visit, then good old New Year's Eve trip to the palace. My fav away ground. Ctid
Not heard many people say that before!!!

He's just made himself more of an idiot there. He clearly made contact with Whitlock and if he didn't mean to would have apologised straight away.
And he didn't take his time because the crowd were booing, it was the other way round. The longer he waited and messed about the more he was booed. I hope the crowd reality get on the petulant twats back at the worlds, and MVG or Gary give him a pasting.
