My enquiry on here last weekend as to whether the bbc (news/website/radio/tv) instinctively was pro-remain,pro-leave (i see it argued both ways) or balanced didn't receive a single response :-(

thought it was a genuinely interesting question too!

Whilst I don't think there's overt bias in their coverage, they'd be susceptible to the soft bias of the fact many of their employees are of a similar background (middle class, university types) and so would have a similar outlook on life - the main reason the Brexit result would have been such a shock to them.

Kukushin is right in that, in trying to be as impartial as they can, the BBC will instinctively avoid taking positions on issues at all, which inevitably leads to a pro-continuity/status quo position.

If Boris didn't want snitchy Remainers grassing up his domestics to the police then he shouldn't have shacked up with some posh London bird - should have got himself some skirt up In Sunderland where I'm sure Team Leave knows how to keep schtum.

Both landed. Thank you!

So this is an interesting one. As Vettel crossed the line first, some bookies may pay out on Vettel as the winner. It depends what their rules say. SportPesa have paid my winnings for Hamilton though.

The rule is generally the result when the podium presentation is done.

Tommy Robinson - ‘Free speech - you should be able to say whatever you like’

Also Tommy Robinson - punches someone in the back of the head for saying something Tommy doesn’t like.

It's the new regulations - did the same thing to me. Though they waited until I'd deposited for the first time in ages, had a small win and then froze the account until I'd done the docs.

If you use language, imagery and rhetoric in your campaigning which is designed to appeal to the racist element in society then it's a bit rich to start clutching your pearls when you get accused of being racist.

If you're wondering what that aroma is, it's the smell of a goose that is well and truly cooked.

Conservative leadership elections are a graveyard for early favourites - as far as I can tell the early favourite has never won (discounting 1989, when Thatcher received a token challenge and 1995, when Major quit and restood to smoke out dissenters)

1965 - Reginald Maudling (beaten by Ted Heath)
1975 - Ted Heath (Thatcher)
1990 - Michael Heseltine (John Major)
1997 - Ken Clarke (William Hague)
2001 - Michael Portillo (Iain Duncan Smith!)
2005 - David Davis (David Cameron)
2016 - Boris Johnson (Theresa May)
2019 - Boris Johnson (?)

Boris's price has gone for a little walk last couple of days - he was matched at under 1.8 on Betfair but is now nearly 3. The mover in that time is Michael Gove (inventor of the Boris Johnson knife rack three years ago).

I assume that, right now, polls are being done with the Tory membership - the last one from Yougov (which was done before May resigned) had Boris at 39%, but everyone else added together was 54%.

right back for the election results tomorrow

who wants to guess the Brexit Party vote share?

closest wins a banana

i will start,37%

I will go for 34.5% - if I win I want my prize to be one of the proper bendy British bananas and not one of those straight Brussels EU monstrosities.

I’ll take 2% because it’ll save me having to give any money to Help The Aged this year.

shouldn't we be backing this at 50-1 for eurovision?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yKoEt0-9ujA

very catchy, and a nutty bald bloke that makes it a bit different/camp

says much about me probably, but i liked it watching last night

thank you for tip i could only get on next door which had EW top 5

i think Norway won the public votes
Got a small profit from a cover bet on Norway top Scandi act (only by 6 points too).

Me too

Now this was lucky - turns out they mucked up the Belarus vote and on the recount Sweden actually beat Norway by 3 points.

Did think it was funny that in his climactic scene, in which he kills the love of his life, Kit Harrington still got acted off the screen by a CGI dragon.
