I ampleased the government is telling her to do one but I suspect they may lose a long drawn out appeals process of whether they are able to leave someone stateless.

Interesting thread.

Guess Bigadz if it was your daughter who’d be groomed by Muslims you’d have exactly the same view. She made her bed- let her rot?

I have never had kids for 2 reasons.

Mainly too selfish with my own time, but because I still believe in some fairly draconian principles, that sadly have been lost in today's society.

All are based around being a good citizen then no one can touch you.

No. I would wash my hands of her and not just change my opinion because she was my kid.

Can tell you’ve not got kids. You can’t just wash your hands of your own flesh and blood.

Point is I get the concerns over security but can’t help but feel is this was a white girl who had been groomed by Muslim men things would be different.

Well played.  Wonder how the public would feel about a Muslim girl groomed by white terrorists?   Doubt the racist thickits could compute that one eh?

What has she actually done? She is guilty of going to live somewhere else. And tacitly approving of the actions of others. And that's it? That's what's so terrible? So far as we know, she hasn't planted any bombs, shot anyone, spread hate on the internet, distributed seditious material, attended any dodgy gatherings or taken part in any terrorist activity at all. The hate we have seen spread on the internet on this topic and others has been by hard-line inflexible nationalists who are more dangerous to our society than she is.

You can’t in all seriousness claim that a nationalist bigot posting some garbage on the internet is more dangerous to our society than someone who has integrated herself into a terrorist network.  It’s a laughable comment.

Of course I do. I am seriously concerned about the direction we are going. I don’t have many very right-wing friends on Facebook, for example, but there are a few and the hatred in the links they put up is undermining our society and has the potential to lead to violence. I think that thousands of bigots spoiling for trouble is hugely more dangerous than one individual who moved into a terrorist group but isn’t known to have actively participated in anything. Obviously, you don’t.

Correct - obviously I think joining a terrorist group which cuts people's heads off is worse than an idiot posting links on facebook that might incite violence.  Still, I suppose you don't get to show your righteousness if you don't take absurd viewpoints, so I understand why you are doing it.

Yeah but marks post is a rational explanation of why people feel like they do and voted to leave. It also deals with the general thread theme of Brexit (currently) and unfettered EU migration. It is not remotely racist or bigoted.

Adz posted about asylum seekers and how they're having it off..I'm glad to have him post this stuff and although I don't know if he's racist..the general tone is narrow minded and unthinking and is a narrative that is aimed to make people feel threatened by the tiny numbers who come into the country this way. It's a bigoted kind of viewpoint even if he's not a bigot

Thanks.

Is it tiny numbers? I genuinely don't know and what defines tiny(I do have a working example, I'm told!).

As Mark points out, the theme he talks of is a growing one and becoming more widespread, and eventually those that do feel safe in their leafy suburbs will have people on THEIR doorsteps who make no attempt to integrate, speak in a foreign language, and perhaps make you feel uncomfortable in a place you have always felt safe.

I am not saying there is any reason to be fearful, but even as a strong enough bloke walking through my own town, at times when I pass by groups like Mark has described, I feel an edge that I never do otherwise.

When I feel this way, should I just suck it up, or speak up?

I had the opposite experience a while ago. I was on my own in a train carriage when four young people (early twenties) got on, three guys and a girl. It didn't mean much, but I was aware of their presence. Then they spoke to each other and I realised they weren't English. Without having thought it through, I noticed that I had relaxed and had sub-consciously thought "Oh, it's ok - they're foreign."

Yeah I’m the same thinking about it.

I live in a small village, no immigrants, no refugees, seemingly nothing has changed here for the last 50 years. We still can't get a Doctors appointment.

It has nothing to do with immigrants.  GPS are lazy admin jockeys and their support staff 10 times worse.  £100 for a private mercenary is money well spent.  You get seen at 10 minutes notice and can over rule diagnosis if required based off something I’ve read on the internet.

Too soon to remove a "sad"?

Have to say, it'd be great to get them back in the top tier, there are too many clubs in the Prem who will never cut it.

Bielsa-gate only increases my admiration for him too, what a boss the way he has handled it.

You sound like the absurd Stan Collymore. Maybe we should just do away with merit and reassign Burnley, Watford and Bournemouth to the Championship and replace them with some "Grand Old Clubs" like Sunderland, Sheff Wed and Forest.  That would make the Premier League better.

Disgraceful dive from Vardy.  The waving of the leg trying to make vague contact with a distant defender was embarrassing.

Plenty of champ clubs changed players even League One sides changed players

I am led to believe a lot of managers get put under pressure to start reserves/squad players in cup games from the agents.

Even so money talks and end of day a cup loss means less pressure on a manager than a league one will.

Agreed but I don’t see why it needs to be either/or.  If you are not in Europe and get knocked out of League Cup early I just don’t understand why teams don’t play close to first team in FA Cup (give 2/3 fringe players a run out sure but 11 changes?).  If you are in Europe then I understand.

Don’t get me wrong Watford made 11 changes as well.  I just don’t get it though.  We will both come 7th to 13th in premier league.  Both will frown upon 7th because we will have to play reserve teams in Euro Cup as can’t be too careful about the league!

Just seems a miserable existence.  Watford will make 11 changes next round and lose.  Now Leicester are out you will end up with 6 games in 8 weeks in February/March when next rounds plus international break is on.  Is it too much to ask players to play a few extra FA Cup games?

Nothing wrong with the team selection after 4 games in 11 days, this time.certainly not compared to the League cup game at home which did feel odd

Vardy, Maguire etc had to be rested. Both have had knocks anyway.

Should have been strong enough to win, various players didn't perform notably those in attacking positions.

If probably your best player on the day then has a rain fade and wants to raise his arm in the box with 5 mins to go then you can't blame Puel for that.

I am probably clouded by the substitution when the comms said the bloke coming off had not played for 15 months and the guy coming on hadn’t played since last year’s FA Cup (King for James I think).  After that I concluded that Puel didn’t give a stuff but maybe the rest of the team was strong and match fit.

Puel picks a second string again and loses.  Given his job security status he's either very arrogant or very stupid.

there us a interesting one today

Chelsea reject a second bid of more than £20m from Bayern for Callum Hudson-Odoi.

Chelsea have told Bayern that they value Hudson-Odoi at closer to £40m.

according to Sky

This means they’re admitting to having a £40m winger at the club who can’t get in the regular squad rotation, currently outside the top 3 and eleven points off the top

If he was worth that he'd be playing

It’s the KDB, Salah, Lukaku affair all over again.

Quite.  Chelsea are simply useless at prospect development.  Loftus Cheek, for example, must leave this window.  Permanently.  He comes in, plays well, then dropped for games on end.  And so it always is with Chelsea.

Yeah Zinchenko is as much of a left back as Delph is. Both can fill in there (Delph excellently last season) but it's not the natural position of either. With Delph suspended and Mendy injured, it looks like Zin will get at least a game or 2 in the team, and as Delph's form has dropped off a cliff he might find it tough to get back in the XI. Zinchenko is good but I'm unsure he'll ever be at the level required for City, hence the interest from Wolves. Fair fucks to him though for turning it down to battle on in Manchester.

I don't see how selling Diaz is a ''shame'' for the academy. This is exactly why we have the academy, to sell young players on for big profit. We might strike it lucky and unearth a genuine wolrd beating talent (Foden potentially), but the reality is these kids need to be incredibly good with the right attitude to just have a sniff of getting in the first team squad. It's understandable that some might get frustrated and seek pastures new, but these are often the youngsters that just won't cut the mustard long term.

It's an unpopular opinion in some parts, but the sole purpose of the academy is to make money. And in that respect it's doing it's job.

If that is the case would be great if you leave the smaller club prospects like Sancho where they are rather than acting like a vampire?  I mean how much money do you need with your backers?
120  Community Forums / Betting Tips and Sport Discussion / Re: Noisy Neighbours - the Man City thread on: December 28, 2018, 11:08:48 AM
Sancho was nevertheless in the academy for two years, thought he was assured some first team playing time and when left out of a pre-season squad pined for a move

Much like Chelsea (though without the attention) its tough for the Academy boys there

Foden gets occasional time and beyond that?

It struck me when i saw Delph struggle at the weekend that there is Zinchenko sitting on the bench, a proper left back who i have only seen play in the flesh in the league cup but has looked a real talent whenever i have. Looks absolutely ready for playing time and when Mendy isn't fit he plays a midfielder there

Indeed.  Poached from FC UFA , Zinchenko does seem a real talent.  Unfortunately at the end of the day, Pep has little time for the output of the academy's widespread procurement programme so it seems to be just a money generation exercise as other clubs' top prospects are polished for a couple of years and moved on.
