Does Treason still exist?  If so surely it’s a slam dunk.  Have the trial to keep the lefties happy and get the noose out?

Yes it's a slam dunk if you can provide evidence that she actively tried to injure the Queen or she was at war with the UK or she was helping an invasion force of the UK.

The closest of these is war - but terrorists aren't soldiers, they're not in an army and they're not in a war (even if that's how they would like to be seen).

She’s joined an organisation at war with the UK.  Done.  The definition of War is antiquated.  This is as near as it gets.

The only definition that counts is the legal definition.

Also you might think it's antiquated but there's a reason why it's like it is.

There are wider issues as to why some states of war will be regarded as a "conflict" rather than a war - but in this context the important principles are that you don't say that terrorists are at war with you because it gives them a much more official status than you (for all definitions of you) want to give them.

If you are at war with a country it means - for a start you're officially recognising ISIS as a country, and we don't want that; but also if you are at war with them you have to follow the law and rules that govern it - and we definitely don't want that.

Legal definition of War is “something waged by States or State like entities through armed forces”.  Isn’t Islamic State a “State like entity”?

It really is an embarrassing post.

What do you want her charged with?  Misadventure?

When I'm thinking to myself about things I am going to do, I thinks as 'we' rather than 'I', e.g. 'We need to get some bread when we're out' or 'Shall we out tonight or stay in?'. I assume this is not normal.

It's normal for us.

Haha I properly laughed at this one Smiley

BBC News - Thai baby elephants cheered as they escape mud pit
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-47761045

Disappointing.  I thought this would be the elephants themselves cheering,   Trunks in the air and some form of Proboscidean dancing.   Was just boring humans cheering it turns out.

Kuku is absolute box office.  He styles himself online as the high brow superior passive aggressive left wing intellectual.  Unfortunately he then gets caught up in a mindless spat and the insults start of “overweight Middle Aged” people.  Next stage is when his fragile temperament fails completely  and the mask completely slips and he ends up like a swearing aggressive docker.

No wonder people wind him up.

More! More!

The level of engaged debate here is inversely proportional to the involvement of the wind up merchants whose only response to reasoned argument is to belittle people.

He’s great in my book.  Has mellowed a bit unfortunately.

I think you’ve got a bit carried away with this, there must be better ways to entertain yourself. I haven’t mellowed, I’m just trying to find the best way to limit how much the trolls damage the debate.

It’s bizarre that you think me worthy of comment but Woodsey and his threats of violence (the high likelihood that he’s actually a physical coward, as well as a moral one, is noteworthy) just go by without comment from anyone.

Woodsey and Mantis deliberately wind you up.  The amusing part is when you go from considered calm thinker to being furious with them in the blink of an eye.  I enjoy it anyway.   FWIW I’m not sure Woodsey was being serious about assaulting Will self.

Cheating by Lacazette to add to a miserable weekend of refereeing.   Pickford should have been off.  5 Newcastle players offside for their winner.  The Sterling goal disgrace against Watford.  Knockheart should have been off.  Townsend dived over a Brighton leg.

A new low in referring incompetence this weekend.

The one I didn’t know was that “oriental” is not to be used especially in America.

I remain amazed people take offence full stop.

Pretty sure when i was a kid, blacks was ok, even to the then black people. Then as a young man it was coloured,  as someone determined black was rude.

Now coloured is rude and we are as Amy would say, back to black.

Why in its very description is it offensive to anyone?

I am white, and always have been, apart from the odd pink moment.

It's all BS , pretty much designed for those that want to take offence to find a reason to.

The point I was attempting to make is that "coloured" is wrong whereas "people of colour" seems to be acceptable.

"Black" has always been fine as long as it was used properly.

I agree.  Never been sure why “people of colour” is okay but “coloured” is bad.  Isn’t the reason it is bad because it implies that there is white and non-white which lumps billions of people in together verses whitey?  Not sure how people of colour changes that implication:I avoid both to be safe.

I think it's a legit position to support the death penalty out of pure vengeance. It's about the only rational reason for supporting it.

Definitely not against this - the death penalty isn't cheaper and doesn't reduce crime overall; vengeance is a motive I'd respect.

This is my motive when I lean towards it.  I read a story and I want the perpetrator immediately incinerated in front of a joyous crowd.  It’s not just vengeance that is the justification.  It’s also the morale boost society receives from the vengeance.  Can’t put a price on that.

Why do you think society gets a morale boost from killing people?  Individuals may, but it is a stretch to say society does.

I think many people embrace justice for certain dispicable crimes.  I appreciate you likely have more enlightened priorities such as rehabilitation and the sanctimonious discussion thereof.

I don't know what I have done to you, but you need to quit all the personal stuff.

I really have no idea why you think I don't believe in justice for crimes, when that is exactly what I was arguing for.  And just because people don't believe in the death penalty and vigilantism doesn't mean they are less appalled than others with daytime stabbings in parks, beheadings of innocents or the fate of James Bulger.

Adz and I have had a few robust discussions over the years, but I like having Adz around here and am sure we still get on fine and I have no plans to "prove my superiority over him".  I am too old for that kind of shit.  Sure we both have good and bad bits about us.

Don’t worry you haven’t done anything to me.  I just find you deeply irritating.  I wouldn’t worry about it.
