Seems like having a company for this level of income would be overkill and not worth the extra compliance costs.
Just start off as self employed.

Can register online with HMRC and notify them by October in the tax year following the year in which she starts “trading”

I think you mean holy grail, but I'd pick that too (if I was old enough)

There is a 1 day £1k event on 23rd September.

I have a similar issue with a £1k seat as part of the prize pool from the £100. I don't have any holidays left so I guess my choices are:
Play a day 1 online
Play the 1 day event instead
Throw a sickie/leave early one day

I presume I can play an online leg with the seat I have won?

The chance of gambling being taxable in the near future is really small as the govt/hmrc have such bigger fish to fry.

However, if it did come about, I imagine the casinos/bookmakers etc would have regulations imposed on them to keep records of payouts/cashes etc so that there is some sort of third party record of a gamblers financial transactions.

There is a lot going on at HMRC to try and deal with the "black economy" (or tax evasion as they call it) as they obviously don't like cash transactions with no corresponding records. They have cracked down on businesses such as scrap dealers, so no reason they wouldn't monitor casinos etc if it was in their financial interest.

It's my bad, following on from Grand Prix I just assumed there would be an online day 1 on the Friday night as it's easiest night to play for me.
Quite surprised there isn't one really, if they want to get as many runners as possible.

Oops I thought there would be an online day 1 tonight.

Nice looking place Dave.
In my fortieth year I have just started eating fish for the first time so might give it a try.
Do you do the kids menus in the restaurant? I notice you have a kids special for takeaway but not on the main menu.

No direct dealings but have a few clients that are using vitality

What are they saying?

Most have recently switched (or considering) for health insurance cover for their workforce as it seems fairly cheap and flexible etc. Not heard anything negative as yet but interested if others had any feedback as it seems to be becoming more popular for owner-managed businesses
