Pretty much GG for me. I will be resisting temptation to be place any more bets on this year's festival but do have a fair few open bets, that said I'll need to run like BH for the rest of the meeting to turn a profit now. WD Brent some excellent picks.

Really looking forward to this year's festival and particularly the Champion Hurdle, what a field! I've been backing Menorah and Peddlars Cross for the Champion Hurdle since October/November but you could make a case for quite a few others in the race including the defending champion. Most likely winner for me though is Menorah.
I also see Cue Card as a very good bet in the Supreme Novices and have been backing him since the turn of the year. His second to Menorah at Cheltenham is pretty good form in my book.
In the Gold Cup I have backed Denman e/w at 8/1, I think this is a cracking E/W bet. I actually think Denman could be in with a real shout of winning the Gold Cup this year and I see Imperial Commander as the biggest threat, also write off Kauto at your peril. Despite a fantastic performance by Long Walk at Kempton in the King George I'm not a believer that he will deliver here.
I've also a good few win and ew lucky 15s & 31s which are made up with various combinations of the horses already mentioned and Finian's Rainbow Merdermit and Time for Rupert. My last bet on this years festival was placed a fortnight ago. I am only planning a few singles during the festival with a maximum total outlay of £200.

Don't get an automatic unless you plan on wearing it almost every day, I have one that's been in it's box for the last three years as I can't be arsed re-setting it all the time. Tag make really good quality watches that will last for years and while they aren't cheap they are pretty good value compared to some similarly priced brands. It really depends on what your budget is though, I would recommend speaking to a sales consultant at Watches of Switzerland, even if you did end up actually going elsewhere to buy a watch, they are really very knowledgeble on the brands they stock. I've never actually bought a watch from them but have got so much good info just going in for a new battery.

Did my first 100 percent cardio, no weights session today. 25 mins cross trainer, 20 mins bike and 15 min run then finished with abs. Pretty knackered but its horrible not picking up a dumbbell. That's 6 days in a row now...training again tomorrow too! Wiiii
Get back to the spin classes, you'll work harder and burn more calories with the added bonus of it being a lot less boring if the music is good. If you can time it so you can get a weights session in before a spin class even better.

Have just read through the whole thread and just wanted to add that woman's football is rubbish, although at the highest level of the women's game it hits the dizzy heights of pretty rubbish. Some of the national level stuff is so rubbish it's funny. There are other woman's sports I do find watchable based on their sporting merits but footall isn't one of them. As for female officials I have no problem with them at all and I am sure they can officiate as well as any man. After all those of us who are married men are already well aware women are never wrong.

Does all this mean the cast of Itv daytime show "Loose Women" will now be sacked?
We can only hope!! Heard someone say Andy Gray is taking legal action against the News of the World over alledged phone tapping, I don't suppose that could have anything to do with it. No hint of sexism at all on the front page of the Scottish edition of the Sun today lol, it had a large picture of the referee's assistant concerned at a night out in short skirt. little top and looking rather hot with the banner headline of "Get them off" with two tiny pics of Gray and Keys making out it was all about them being taken off air last night.

Won't your leg session be a lot more difficult if you do spin the same day? Just asking as I do 2 sessions on a Saturday (one 1 hour rowing session and then back later for an hour of Arms and Abs) and do an hours cycling on Sunday. Tried to combine this with legs later on in the day/early evening but found my legs are just jelly so there's no point even trying it so had to move my leg session to another day.
To be honest I've not actually tried it yet so I'll report back on that one. I quite often do two spin classes in a row so I figure if I do spin then my legs session my legs should be okay. I know it's normaly best to do your weight training before your cardio but I reckon this would be the best way to fit both in on the same day.

Prior to the last 18 months my only weight training was high rep and low weights. I now train with heavier weights a lot more regulalry and although I regularly increase my weights, vary my exercises, and make sure I work hard in the gym I recover from my sessions a lot more quickly than I used to. I don't often feel what I refer to as the good pain for a day or two after a session like I used to. Is this a good sign or should I be looking at changing how I train?
I normally do 3 one hour weights sessions a week, session one - back, tricep, shoulders, session two - chest, biceps, session three full upper body session. I don't really have scope to add in any extra weights sessions as I try to get 4 or 5 cardio sessions in each week as well.
When you say full upper body session, what does that involve? I'd suggest doing shoulders, back and chest each on a different training day each. I think it's not necessarily too much of a bad sign that you don't feel the pain you once used to as your muscles are now a lot more used to training through having done it for so long but keep trying to mix it up so your muscles never get too comfortable. Do pyramids, have a week where you just powerlift etc. The full upper body session hits the chest, back, biceps, triceps, and shoulders. For this session I normally do supersets throughout and often use pyramids or dropsets. I don't usually go too heavy for this session and vary it week to week. It's also a bit of a cardio session as it does get the heart pumping and I do get a good sweat up. I use this session just to keep the muscles ticking over as each body part is only getting one good session a week. I don't do legs at all but as I do 4 spin classes a week I feel my legs are worked sufficiently. I do try to vary my sessions and see a PT once a fortnight but when it comes to weight training I think it may be a mental thing that if it doesn't hurt I don't feel I've done enough or training right. It's probably just because it's an area of training I lack some experience in. One good session per week is more than enough for each body part. Doing any more is over training. You'd be much better off using that extra session to split your shoulder and back training to allow you to work each more effectively in your alloted time.Spinning is not leg training btw. Get on that squat rack!! Going to give this a try this week. I can't really hit the squat rack just now as I'm awaiting a hip op even though I'm a youthful 38!! Only leg training I can do is on some of the technogym machines, may give it a go with my shoulder session. My plan for this week unless work commitments change is Monday rest day, Tuesday spin, Wednesday chest and bicep, Thursday back and tricep, Friday Spin, Saturday spin, Sunday spin and shoulders/legs session.
