I don't believe the 'I hope you die of cancer' type of chat is explainable as a nano second insta reaction - it takes a reasonable amount of time time to type it and hit return.
But as someone who's always only been a small stakes player I'd say the comments are worse now than they were a few years ago (before it would have been 'God you're so shit' etc)
And I've always just assumed that it's how moronic players think hardass poker pros live their daily lives - so they start by copying Hellmuth and then take it further and further over time.
I reckon they think it shows the rest of us that they are top top players. Which obviously rings true in a $2 rebuy...........

Bit more Flamenco than Denise's, but proper Paso music.
Do you think that playing a 'pop' record takes away from the quality of the dance? I'm not knowledgeable enough to say that Denise's was as good as Austin's technically, but I thought the performance/acting side of Denise's was more expressive. (Just my opinion) It seems to me to be one of those dances where the expression in the movement is as important, if not even more important, than the technical side of it. (Unlike the foxtrot etc). Is that a valid viewpoint, or am I talking gibberish?

Denise's Paso was wonderfully intense.
Personally I think that might well be the best paso in SCD history. I think she'll struggle to win coz she;s peaked too early IMO. But still...

Good post Sean.
And then some... Plenty to work on. Because I can watch 3 tables quite comfortably I don't want to reduce that atm - it doesn't mean I'm making 3 x the mistakes, I'm just making them 3 x as quickly. The first thing I noticed this a.m. was that I was winning small pots with my good hands, and losing bigger pots with my marginals / bluffs. I think that will be my first learning target. When to bet and bet sizing. Last night and again this morning I was pretty poor when I first sat down, then as I got the feel for the other players I seemed to catch up a bit more. I think I need to understand MY betting patterns more and so I can make better decisions based on 'fact', rather than relying on 'feel' Does that make sense? Thanks for the support guys, I already feel more accomplished, just by these few posts. Cheers as always

I've been playing a few cash games, pretty aimlessly, and I'm beginning to feel comfortable playing cash, rather than tournaments. But rather than being a losing player, the long term aim is to turn myself into a more steady profit centre. I'm not talking turning pro or anything, but it would be nice to take the Mrs out for a meal every few months, that sort of profit. I put £25 into Titan, final tabled a couple of MTTs to win a couple of hundred dollars, and have started winning a few SNGs. I've taken the £25 back out, and I'm left with about £150. However, my cash games are showing an overall loss, I fear. Last month my figures were; Played 1842 hands lost £3.95 This month has started rather nicely in comparison. Tonight's figures; Played 336 hands won £20.57 So now is the moment to set the standards. I'm now going to take grinding seriously (by my own rather pathetic standards). I can play 3 tables of $0.05/$0.10, 9 handed at once. I can't do all the maths of putting villain on a range, and calculate odds to call etc. What I can do is play position, and c-bet pretty relentlessly. Sometimes it works !! Any tips on how best to proceed, or judge my progress. Or anything at all, really Cheers

Isn't this one of those cases where he was either miles in front, or miles behind?
This is often the case when making river calls, we're either winning the hand (miles ahead) or losing the hand (miles behind) Is one permitted to use the term 'git' on these fora?

Maybe just post the hh's next time, you write a lot of stuff that doesn't really matter!
Soz, I can't seem to get the standard HH working tbh... Which site? Titan It shows a graphic HH while I'm playing, but I can't copy it, and then once the game is over it disappears.

I was pretty shocked and elated at the same time.
It's not really a fistpump either way, but long term its probably not going to be a great idea to make too many calls when you're "shocked and elated" that the pot is getting shipped your way! Good stuff though, you wouldn't have even thought about this a few months ago just written it off as a cooler! Both options felt so dirty...Made me lol (well, a decent chuckle at least) What did he push with? Isn't this one of those cases where he was either miles in front, or miles behind? In which case, without a read, shouldn't it be a fold? Can you explain (simply but more fully) what made you think his range could be that gave you the edge to call? You don't seem to have given him any credit for 66-KK. Are these hands not in his range? Once you saw his hand, what did you think of his push? (You don't have to answer all those questions, but one or two would help me get my brain active.... Cheers )

Type of Game a)Online b)SNG The Buy in $5. I've been playing the $1 SNGs and am beginning to feel comfortable with them, so I'm dipping my toes into a slightly larger buy in.Number of Runners 10Number of Runners remaining 3Payout information if relevant standardBlind levels/Clock length 200/400. Due to go up to 250/500 in about 1 minsYour stack size 4595Stack Sizes of relevant opposition BB 2480 button 2925. In the hand concerned your position at the table and that of relevant opposition BB posts 400 leaving 2080 behind. I'm UTGWhat is your image? LAGWhat is the image of the opponents concerned? Is there any history? Any reads? Both are playing TAGish atm. Everyone is pushing when they get the chance to be first into the potFor online hands are there any tracking software stats available for your opponent(s)? NoWhat is the situation? Describe as fully as you can? On the bubble. Everyone is pushing once an orbit so stacks are staying similar (everyone has about 2k). I steal 2 in a row without being called up, then get UTG and push for the third time. I get called by short stack with and get through to the cash with 4500 chips
Next hand I get UTG. I tank and end up pushing. BB calls with and I end up doubling him through.
Next hand I'm in BB and get . UTG folds and same villain pushes his 4960. I call for the rest of my chips and he shows . He wins, I'm outWhat questions do you want answered? Generally, is QJ good enough to push with 3 handed? Is it good enough to call with? Specifically, does the fact I've pushed 3 times in a row (and shown AT) mean that in this case I shouldn't have pushed now I have a decent chip lead? Again, how poor was the call for all my chips with the last hand (I'm concious of the impending blind increase, but maybe I panicked a bit ?)Cheers

Hi, I'm currently a 10nl reg with over 200k hands at this stake. (I am now a decent winning reg at these stakes) I think the 4bt size is fine, possibly a little small (i probably make it 2.80) but in my experience 6/6 times people have small 5bt pre have ALL been AA. This is an easy fold to the original raise/5bt, but now we have a small 6bt behind its an absolute no brainer. Nice hand, wp. Cheers I find it tough playing a few hundred hands with 3 tables open, to get to 200k hands would take me forever and then some.... I thought about the fold for a while, so it wasn't an impulse fold, but my logic was exactly the same as yours. I just started doubting myself when BOTH players turned over AK. Just needed to check that this was just a one off - sanity is the same, even at micro stakes. Thanks for your input.

Type of Game a) Online b) CashThe Buy in $0.05 / $0.10 Number of Runners - 8 playersYour stack size - $15.34Stack Sizes of relevant opposition - Elis $10.51 ; Cruuzer $9.75In the hand concerned your position at the table and that of relevant opposition - I'm in BB, Elis is in seat 6, Cruuzer is on the button. What is your image? I'm seeing 18% of flops. I've been reraised off a couple of hands preflop when I've made small raises in late position, but early position raises have been respected. My profit is coming from one nice hand where I made up the BB into a multiway pot from SB, flopped 2 pair, and bet every street, but villain folded on the river, so I didn't show. What is the image of the opponents concerned? Is there any history? Any reads? Elis has reraised me once or twice, Cruuzer has been quiet and solid. For online hands are there any tracking software stats available for your opponent(s)? Nope. What is the situation? Describe as fully as you can? I've been trying to grind at micro stakes to free up my balance, but it's not working so I'm trying slightly higher stakes (in my world 5cents/10cents is HUGE compared with 2cents/4cents) with mixed results to date. Because I'm grinding I'm playing limited hands, and positionally. Tonight I've played very TAG, c-betting virtually every time I've led the betting preflop.GAME #3496966581: Holdem NL $0.05/$0.10 - 2012-10-29 23:38:59 Table Barnflair Server poker5.ipoker.com Seat 8: rebelmonty1984 ($11.56 in chips) Seat 1: dziob89 ($16.45 in chips) Seat 6: DurkoBukowski ($10.60 in chips) Seat 9: elis78 ($10.51 in chips) Seat 2: hauneen ($11.62 in chips) Seat 3: CruuzerM ($9.75 in chips) Seat 4: fullringololo ($10.13 in chips) Seat 5: SandyBits/ShatnerPants ($15.34 in chips) fullringololo: SB $0.05 SandyBits: BB $0.10 *** HOLE CARDS *** Dealt to SandyBits [ ] DurkoBukowski: Fold rebelmonty1984: Fold elis78: Raise To $0.30 dziob89: Fold hauneen: Fold CruuzerM: Raise To $1.05 fullringololo: Fold SandyBits: Raise To $2.50 elis78: Raise To $5.30 CruuzerM: Raise To $9.75 SandyBits: Fold elis78: Call $4.45 *** FLOP *** [ ] *** TURN *** [ ] *** RIVER *** [ ] *** SHOW DOWN *** What questions do you want answered? - I wasn't surprised to see Elis' raise, but Cruuzer has been quiet, so I'm pretty sure I know he has got something reasonable/normal, but he's on the button, so I'm not totally convinced. Hence the raise. I'm expecting Elis to drop out, and leave me HU with Cruuzer. But after a 5-bet and a 6-bet, I assumed at least one of them had AA, and we're probably talking about AA vs KK. So I reluctantly folded.
My question/s.
At these stakes am I overthinking the hand? Is my re-re-raise even a good idea? Is the fold reasonable? What should my line of thought been? How would a half decent player play it?
