Apologies guys and gals, didnt realise that Nob was in fact a compliment.... took it the wrong way initially. As far as piss taking is concerned I would like to think that I am well versed in the art, so good luck to yall next time I travel to God's (poker)country.
I shall be heading to Nottingham this weekend so hope to see a few familiar faces up there. In response to Luther you too are a prime nob, thank you sir for your kind words! I didnt want to be staked but it seems that several of my "gay" poker pals want a piece of the action and who am I to argue with their judgement...it just means my bankroll will strecth a little further and run into months rather than weeks!
Most of you will know Graham Pound as a fairly decent player imho, he is not far behind Mike Magee and Willie in the all time winners list at Luton and that with taking several years out of the game and living 70 miles away. If he wants to spend his time and effort working with me, I can only be appreciative of that attention.

Anyway no hard feelings I wish you all the best and if any of you venture up to the deepstack I sincerely hope you do well!

ps just in case this post isnt long enough. I strongly believe that a poker tournament is a journey and so all the trips I have taken in the past at various venues or poker series have given me experience even the ones that I dint cash in. The recent Black belt London live helped me gain the belief that I could beat a field of top players and but for a minor error shudve made the FT. So I learnt from that and then the next tournament that I played (DTD) I went on to win. for all those players that have had relative success or minor cashes throughout the years, you have to believe that you can win a big one and it is hopefully a progression, we can go on to win regularly and at a higher level.....is that enough twaddle 4u Luther xxx

I find it interesting that people at the poker table are quick to judge other players, most of us have our opinions, but tend to keep them to ourselves .... I guess forums are there to let off steam or seek advice answers and confirmation from other players.
Just because I did well in one national tournament doesnt entitle me to write a blog, I agree, and I purely use facebook to update friends irregularly of what im up to, so hardly a blog in the true sense. I still have a lot to learn about the game, I have already been introduced to the green eyed monster that tends to accompany success... to state that someone is a nob is a bit harsh imo and appreciate the balance being address by my learned Scottish friend!
I have a 3 hour round trip to play tournaments in Luton and play there on the advice of my trainer Graham Pound, as he feels that the quality of players there is generally of a good standard and that I can learn a lot and hone my poker skills there. I have played several GUKPT and GCBPT main events and have had relative sucess in these without cashing. Played EPT and WSOPE side events and several festivals at Luton and Brighton as well as the DTD deepstack at Nottingham about 6 or 7 times, always making day 2, before I finally cracked it. So i am not under any illusions that I am better than the majority of players who I play against in national tournaments. The recent cash and several people staking me means that I will be able to play about 6 tournaments over the next 2 months and I think after that I should be able to take stock of whether I am any good at this game or not. Because of the fact that I havent had an awful lot of experience of final tabels except at a local level, I have to say that I tend to be led by the other players and realised in retrospect that after 3 double ups I could easily have gone on to win the recent Luton £100 FO, but I did end up with £800 which I was not unhappy with. However after that experience, you will be pleased to know that I will no longer be doing deals with other players or for the bubble, unless like the DTD deal it is in my favour or you guys wish to trade league points for cold hard cash. I look forward to visiting you again soon and would like to finish on the fact that I do respect a lot of the player's games at the GCasino and you can be assured that I will not be calling anyone a nob even if I think it to myself. may the poker Gods be with you!

Having had a few days to mull over the victory, and read the posts I totally agree that I got a great deal and more importantly the quodos of the win. However the way I was running and the inexperience of Manoj and Christie meant that I was overrunining the table with my chip sstack and aggression. It was just a matter of time before we had one player leave. I like Glen and respect his game and Christie was an angel so happy to see them leave with the money that they did. I have to respect Manoj for being the only player that opposed the deal but as you can imagine he was my target to put out next. I increased my chips considerably from the first talks of a deal, which incidentally Glen brought up. My focus was the plaudits of getting the win the bulk of the money and my sponsorship deal back on track. I have to finish on the fact that I think DTD is a great venue and the blonde guys are the best, shudve stopped to have a chat with them after picking up the cash but was so tired and had a 3 hour drive home ahead of me! But great work and I have already booked in for next month along with my trainer and mentor Graham Pound
